      Everyone talks about getting there bpm to 70-75% of their max in order to burn fat efficiently. Anything higher than that is considered the cardio zone. Here's my question...

      What exactly is happening to your heart and body when it's in the "fat burning zone" and the "cardio zone"? What's the difference between the two in regards to how your body uses energy? Thanks everyone.

      in order to burn fat, you should look at this BPM-rule ;
      (220-age) * 60 till 90% . So, youll have to stay between 60 (underlimit) and 90 (upperlimit) percent!!!
      Basically, youre body has three systems to get your calories burned; phosphate system, lactate system and the oxygen system. You should stay in the last one in order to burn fat. the other systems are more related to shorter body efforts (general bodycondition & musclestrenght)

      Good luck!

      As Luna said... the system that relies mostly on fat fuels is triggered by lower intensity. Higher intensity will burn out mainly carbs.
