Tweetso sorry bro, she sounds like a good woman from your posts. keep her spirits up ok ?
Tweetmy wife went to the neurologist today because she was loosing sensation in her feet and tripping and falling alot. she was diagnosed with charko marie toothe disease. it is a congenital neurological disease that causes some of the nerves in the extremities especially the lower legs and feet to basically fail and the muscles to atrophy. she is being fitted monday for leg and foot braces to keep her from falling. bless her heart she just cant feel her feet. i always called her clumsy and she always shrugged it off with a smile. i feel very guilty. it worsens with age luckily it is not fatal and only in extreme cases would a wheel chair be needed. this is not the end of the world, mrs jipped and i are very happy but it does cause her grief in the fact that she has slowly become unable to participate in sports like she used to. she played basketball in high school and cant anymore for fear of falling and poor coordination. i guess it has come on so slowly that neither of us noticed it until she kicked the table and her toe was dislocated and sticking out to the side and she said it didnt hurt much at all. there is no cure but physical therapy may help in some cases. we are still blessed people, there are many people who found out they would die today in the world. yes, give thanks for your health brothers and sisters of FG.

Tweetthanks folks for your concern. game appreciate the offer my wife is a RN and has many friends who are docs. even the neuro doc is only accepting insuance payment but dosnt want her copay. cool people! she is OK i told 34pumped earlier that she is very serene knowing what is causing this and that it will not effect longevity. she just might walk with more of a limp and have to use a cane in 10 years. we are just relevied it is not something much worse. she is beautiful now and always be to me. thanks again for the concern friends, we are just fine here at the jipped residence.Originally posted by TheGame1976

Tweetjipped,
Very sorry to hear about the unfortunate situation.
Don't know if you know but 6 years ago, which really goes back 13 years had the major nerve problems. Won't go into long story, yet will relay this. I did not give up, I have seen in 6 years 15 doctors.
Doctors are so inundated with new information, insurance regs, lawyers, etc. it is so difficult for them to keep up with new therapies.
Suggestions:
This all comes from the world of MS, muscular dystraphophy, took me years to find this stuff.
Stuff to try:
Pregnenolone......probably the best, natural hormone heal nerves they have research going back to '40's yet no one promotes it because it is natural and no money
Progesterone cream....same as prenenolone
DECA....stronger form of progesterone
DHEA....again building back up what fades with age
Sincerely reccomend DR. Raymond Scruggs with New Hope Living Center out in California, do a search if interested you'll find it, if not pm me and I'll get you phone number.
I had talked to over 20 doctors throughout my time on this subject, this guy is by far number one and has more research and knowledge in the field then almost all of them combined, he was amazing.
Call him and ask him about the charko and almost 100% guaranteed he will know the latest and greatest on the best way too treat it.
If not search the net, the latest and greatest information abounds, just like this AS board their are people out their who deal with this disease every day and know the latest and greatest.
And most of all, you and your wife have Triple A+ attitudes, which is a a blessing because this can now become a learning and growing expereince rather than a struggle.
Good Luck
