T: Holy Crap, that's a mouthful, I'd ask if you're done, but I can see you're just getting warmed up.

SwoleCat: Yeah, Bob, I also want to put to rest this "idea" people have of receiving the same diet as everyone else. Honestly, if you're presented with a diet that will get you ripped to hell, would you reject it because someone else may be using it too? Well, if that's the case, that's very stupid reasoning, but this subject came up recently at one of the larger, although highly juvenile boards on the Net. I won't mention it to save whatever face they have left.

Hate to burst your bubble, but this wasn't directed at you or at any one person, but rather a group of those who were discussing and misunderstanding this. The board that we were referring too in the article was a very large board, not this one.

I see you identified w/the other juveniles though, so think about that for a bit.

Lo siento! Didn't mean to disappoint ya, I'll try and work you in for the next issue........

Liked your interview, it was interesting and sincere. Anyway, got a question/challenge for you to test your knowledge. I, like you have been devouring information from every source on the planet on diet and traing for about the last 15 years. In particular, this past year I have spent an enormous amount of time researching how to "Peak Perfectly" the last week before a contest. I have spoken with some of the top nutritionists in the field, well known professionals that coach top bodybuilders and athletes, and write for some of the muscle mags and have their own books published. The reason for this insane quest for knowledge stems from the fact that I have never been able to really nail it down on the day of the show. Last year, afetr paying one of the top "Diet Gurus" in the field bucu bucks to get me ripped for my 2 contests, ended in disaster. His diet miraculously got me to abot 3.5% bodyfat in under 12 weeks. But then, the all dreaded "Peak Week". I lost 15 lbs the last week with all the usual crap of carb depletion sodium loading and water deprivation. I blew 12 weeks of dieting in that 1 week, and did not retain my National Qualification standing which I now have to re-earn at a local show in about 6 weeks to compete at the USA this year.

Anyway, to my point and question:

In regards to aldosterone manipulation. It is now my experience, at least with my physique, that I need water, sodium, and not many carbs to look my best. Cut sodium, and I go flat and lose vascularity. Cut water, flat as a pancake. To many carbs (as in the typical 100 grams for 3 days and 500-600 for 3 days before the show) and I'm spilling over like a fountain. So the question I pose: How does one go about keeing aldosterone levels at a minimium without cutting water and sodium, and yet still losing sub-q water? P.S. - Scientific Journal studies that I have read show that even cutting sodium for 24 hours shows a significant rise in aldosterone levels.

Interested in your feedback. I think I have the answer. Love to compare notes

      Default cool...

Thanks for the question, and I am glad you liked the interview! It was indeed an honor to be asked to do that.

Funny, and ironic as it gets might I add, that you should ask the question you posed above, as I just submitted a piece to T-Mag about these concerns of yours, and how to dial it in looking tight!
The final week as it applies to bodybuilders and "regular everyday people" who just wish to look good for an upcoming event, it applies to everyone. This should run rather soon, so look for it. It'll be announced @ my forums, so you can check in there as the others do for updates. I'll give you a quick hint as to how I manipulate this in two words....."sodium loading".

Keep in mind that the piece that will appear is what works for me, and for those that I instruct. This does not mean it shall be set in stone to work for literally everone who tries it, but it doesn't mean that it won't either, if followed correctly. So, you aren't really testing my/or others' knowledge, per say, when you wish to get a feel for one's methods/stance on a subject. You are testing a theory/practice/method/ and how it applies to others.
The real knowledge portion would be assisting those that the method would NOT work for, or worked less optimally for, as I can assure you the original plan entails/applies sound reasoning.

Test it out when you read it! The entire plan will all be laid out, and you can see how it works for you!

      Hope it helps!

Sodium loading is a very tricky thing to time precisely. It has backfired on me on more than one occasion. I'll be very interested to read your article and see your set-up of the process. When can I look for it, the next week or so?
