ADHD is a genetic disorder - that needs to be corrected by drugs
ADHD is a lack of discipline that can be corrected.

Tweetagree, alot of parents come home from work and put the kid in front of the tv or xbox with their fast food. What do they expect, how many times did they take their kid to the park or outside to play, and they wonder why they r hyper and shit like that.It pisses me off like shit.I mean I understand that it is hard work raising kids,I'm 25 and have 2 boys but their asses r outside ed playing ,my oldest loves his xbox but he is only allowed to ply it for 1 hour a day.Kids just dont play like they used to.
Tweeti think there is no such thing as ADHD ... they said i had it when i was little, but i never got on any medication, and i did just fine ...
TweetI agree with you guys.
Have you heard of Oppositional Defiant Disorder, this is hilarious and it is not a joke.

TweetADHD is very real... believe me I have it... I was diagnosed when I was 5 but never took my meds as they doped me up...after about 12 years it had gradually grown worse to lack of treatment(not medication but treatment). Now its horrible. at 20 I cant remember to do shit if it doesnt directly affect me. Shit just slips my mind, organizing thoughts/plans etc... is fucking HARD sometimes. Sometimes while talking to someone my mind gets so completely twisted I feel so stupid like I'm baked or something. It sucks.
But yes it is very over diagnosed..... but it is real... believe me on that.

TweetI'm with Rome, and believe me it is very very real.
Although, after much research on the subject, IMHO, it is not a disorder in the least. In reality it is how your brain is wired. The brain has several million options of how to be wired, and a small percentage end up with these tendencies or traits that were listed.
When you become aware of how your brain works it just answers hundreds of questions. As an adult it is possible to adapt and change and it's all good, yet, still have to remember what's what.
As a kid though, without positively supportive parents, it becomes a tougher and tougher nightmare for kids that have these thinking patterns to a high degree. It is very hard for parents, adults, and health care professionals to relate to the struggles because they have not walked in their shoes.
Drugs do work and help to a degree, note, it is only a temporary solution. And for some kids and even adults it is the right thing to do.
Understand, we have learned more about the brain in the last 20 years than in the history of man, ADD & ADHD fall into this category.
At one time they thought the world was flat.
At one time they thought everyone should think the same and that those who didn't had character problems.
We are in the first pitch of the first inning of discovering and uncovering all the wonders of the brain and how it works.
Until we are all more knowladgeable there will be ups and downs and struggles, changes in believes etc.
The good is that at least we are finally in the game.
