Tweetid make abortion illegal except in cases of rape and health concerns to the mother.
TweetYup, let's try to keep this thread on track and serious. Humor is allowed, I just don't want the thread getting "silly".
Let's discuss what you'd change if you became the president of the united states. ONLY 1 THING! Then let's debate as to who's idea is the best.
I'll start:
If I was able to change 1 thing. It'd have to be the american forien policy. It's my BELIEF that americans mean well, but end up forceing US political and moral beliefs on others. It's not right and causes lots of trouble. Another term for this is the american "Manifest Destiny". Do a search on this for more information on exactly what I mean. I'll see if I can post some informative links.
As a Canadian, I'm probably going to have different views and intrests that you americans. Please keep this in mind.

Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.

Tweeti would get rid of 'the war on drugs'. it has failed and costs the country billions.
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.

TweetPudgy and Morbid. Great ideas...
They work as an idea, but you'll need to expand on them a little.
Pudgy: What's the criterea for rape? What about incest? What about statutatory rape?
Morbid: No punishment for drugs at all? Even people selling heroin to 13 year old girls? How about something like the stance they take with Steroids in Canada? Basically just going after the manufacturers, importers, and distributors? All drugs?

TweetWell I would change the immigration laws. I think too many people are coming over and cashing in on the american life that the americans before us built. Most all other countries claim to dislike americans and the american way of life, but yet those same people want to live here.
If I were president, it would be hard as hell for foreigners to get american citizenship much less even visit here. This would also help to aid in the war against terrorism.
TweetAnother good idea Ladiesman.
Here's some food for thought: What goes around comes around. Making it hard as hell for australians to visit the US would probably piss off the australians and make them do the exact same thing.
Don't forget that tourism is a huge business in the states.. that'd about cripple the industry. Hawaii for example would be devestated.. approx 1/2 of hawian tourists are not americans.

TweetOk, I agree with Pudgy....but unfortunately there is a downside to making this law. If a woman doesn't want a child, then if she finds out she is pregnant and can't have an abortion, she will probably end up killing the child by not giving it proper prenatal care.
LM: How would you have felt if we changed the immigration laws before you great grandparents got off the boat?
Tweetgood food for thought. After more thought into this, I would not strengthen the vacation/visitation laws because I would not want to hurt my precious economy.Originally posted by Got Gear?
