Yep, I am joing. Its 24/7, has good extras included, has everything I need plus no contract.Only $10 a month. Fuzo will stay where he already goes though. Fuzo asked the front desk guy..."Really, not even 1bench here?"lol,I was waiting for the alarm to go off. Fuzo has been to others when we travel, and he said they had everything but not this one.Anyone else go to PF?

I’ve been kicked out of a few. In Anchorage I tried to get a day pass in one and NO one would help me. Literally ignored me until I finally walked out.

I got a membership a couple years ago and I only went once. I can't really say anything bad about them, I mean if ya wanna have fun get into shape and meet people it's a cool place, especially for $10 bucks a month !

I had a membership as well. It was fine. Just very busy all the time. Hard to get on the equipment that you wanted sometimes

            Re: Planet Fitness

The Planet Fitness here is HUGE. For cardio equipment, it blows away any other gym and you rarely have to deal with it being too crowded. The shitty part about it is NO squat racks and absolutely no deadlifting. There are NO olympic bars at all. So you have to have a membership at another gym too.
The other shitty thing is I had them sound off the lunk alarm on my because I was doing dumbell bench and dropped the rubber dumbells onto the rubber floor, like everybody does when doing that exercise. The alarm sounded and the manager came over and told me I cant drop dumbells like that. Total BS, but oh well. Its not easy to set dumbbells down easy after benching them but PF will get pissed if you dont

              Re: Planet Fitness

i also was politely asked to leave and told their gym was probably not for me. i wore my wife beater since it was warm weather and apparently breathed too loud while benching resulting in a member complaining to the desk and was told the wife beater violated their judgement free zone and i needed to not make noise while exercising. when i set up the barbell to deadlift i was told they don't allow that here. upon further discussion i was informed it was basically an ego exercise and therefore was frowned upon. i was only there to help a female friend get into shape for summer and was allowed in on her pass as a guest. when they said they didn't think their gym was right for me i agree and apologized to my friend that unless she switched gyms i couldn't help her out. she is currently pushing 200+ pounds and is no longer training. i literally have to say they are the perfect business model though, they'll never go out of business when they have freed donut day and free pizza day for their members regularly lol.
You may not recognize your mom when you get home, I shaved her back.

I go to a big corporate gym but it is full of meat heads grunting and lifting heavy. Miss my old independent gym years ago that was like a weight dungeon.

                    Re: Planet Fitness

i belonged to pf in a part of the city that was mostly spanish and poor. i was just a fly on the wall doing my thing with headphones on. i wore a beater, drop weights, bring my own equip, and the lunk alarm was only used when the employees were screwing around. If you apply your macgyver it is possible to build muscle at pf even when the db's only go to 80.

The day they sounded the Lunk ALARM on me I was wearing head phones and didnt hear it. Then a little old lady walked up to me and said "Are you the one that set off the Lunk alarm?" I said "I must have been because I just got yelled at by the manager" LOL

An "ego lift" ? see that's why I canceled my membership. There was nothing to get big on, and ya allways gotta' watch your ass over some silly s#it or an alarm will go off. it seemed like just a social club for the low esteemed with gerbil machines. and as far as ego's go, everybody walks around in there plugged to a smart phone with the biggest turd under their nose. It is what it is.

Only 1 way they can afford to stay in business. Most sign up and never go and never cancel. A massive turn um and burn um operation. I don't fault them I have run a couple gyms like that.

No doubt. Most people dont notice that they are getting charged $10 a month , year after year, for a Planet Fitness membership that they never use.
