TweetI couldn't agree more. I honestly think one of the most beneficial things anyone can do for someone else is to just listen.
Tweetvalidation is not passive, one must agree to be a validating force. I agree that many people just want to be heard. It is empathy that I feel is missing from the younger generations as they communicate via social media and texts so much there is far less face to face connection.
My dad told me "Boy you have 2 ears and 1 mouth which means you should listen 2X as much as you talk"

TweetI feel empathy is missing from the older generations as well. I believe it can be learned but has to follow awareness. With all the distractions at hand, many will lack empathy. I wear everyone elses shoes and this is a gift, I am told, but it is draining
