I am currently in the beginning of week 8 of 13 of my cutting cycle. My meals throughout the day consist mainly of solid foods, being chicken and tuna, except for the first meal which is oats and a protein shake. The last meal of the day is either a nice steak or lean ground beef.

I ate an under cooked chicken breast 2 days ago and got pretty sick, now ever since I cant bring myself to eat another piece of chicken, it makes me want to chuck. I love lean ground beef and am thinking of eating it in place of the chicken throughout the day, which would end up being about 3 meals of beef. Is this too much? I have thrown some egg whites in also, hopefully I will be able to get back to eating chicken in a week or so, hopefully.

I highly reccomend double and triple checking whether your chicken has been cooked long enough.

Ouch! I can see your dilema.

Honestly, I'd TRY to get 1 chicken meal in a day. Try it in a stir-fry or a salad or something.

Yeah having an aversion to chicken is got to be one of the worst things for all of us. Try some canned chicken for a while until you can get over the mind game of your chicken problem

thanks for the replies. It definately sucks that I cant bring myself to even look at a chicken breast. I think today I will eat the ground beef instead and try to cook some chicken tonight, jsut a little differently so they dont look the same, hopefully that will help. Maybe cover them in mustard before cooking so they even smell a little different.

None of you guys really mentioned whether all the red meat is good or not.

I diet on red meat all the time, lean cuts and extra-lean ground beef, hardly a chicken in sight. Cholesterol never gets high, and I get ripped while staying sorta satisfied I do eat chicken salad a few times a week though, just to break it up!

cool. I was thinking of giving the chicken a break for a week or so. I figure that as lean ground beef or chicken shouldnt really make a difference in a cutting diet as long as the carbs are kept out. It might actually help for the week, a good switch, more good fats.

Yeah, watch cholesterol though, even lean meats, while low in fat, are still high in cholesterol. I get mine checked often, I'm lucky, even on winny and triple-cheeseburgers it never goes up to even 200.

I eat about 1 lb of top sirloin a day while cutting, beef has CLA and small amounts of creatine in it. 4oz of lean sirloin has maybe 1 more gram of fat in it than chicken breast.
I eat at least 6 times a day to build my body
I pray at least 6 times a day to build my soul

They say now that dietary cholesterol is not responsible for cardiac disease, they now say that sat fat and trans fat are now the culprits so you shouldn't worry about the cholesterol in certain foods but the sat fat and trans fats that are in them.

As long as your cals are on you should be fine. There is nothing about eating chicken that will make you lose fat faster than beef.

Beef rocks. No need for chicken at all. NONE.

I'm also very paranoid with my chicken. I usually cook it on the george forman grill intil it is VERY well done. I have this fear of eating undercooked food.
