      ...I've always hated them, still hate them...forced myself to do them yesterday. 5 sets back and forth across the gym.

      Needless to say I can't move today! Not sure what it is about this exercise that just kills me. My ass cramps and my upper Hams lock up, I get winded like I'm doing some tire flipping contest!

      I hate you lunges!

      I personally hate lunges too !!! With my knee issue , I cannot do lunges successfully without reaggravating an old injury . Leg presses , leg extensions , and there's a squat machine at my gym that out puts very little stress on my knee , lying leg curls , and that's basically it for me !!!
      Gets the job done !!!

      they come in and out of my program as well. as a matter of fact i did them as part of a super set yesterday also. i will tell you this i am in pretty good shape cardio wise and muscle endurance wise as well. the lunges kick my ass far worse than any other movement i do. doesnt matter if they are wide step or close in step to get the quads better. they destroy me and leave me panting like i just ran a marathon. lunges are an evil movement for sure

      I can lunge but it they pinch a nerve and make my shin light up like a blowtorch. I finally said screw it and stopped doing them, but I agree, they are a biiittvch

      They're a regular part of my leg routine, so I feel your pain bro. I usually throw them in at the end of my leg workout. Even doing them with no weights and just my body weight, I'm still panting and barely pushing forward out of breath. They're brutal.
