Old remedies

TweetJust thinking about old remedies my Mom used to give us when we were sick or had pain. I think we all can remember something our parents or grandparents gave us. Tell us some of yours. I do believe a lot of that old stuff worked!

Rubbing whiskey on painful gums

Tablespoons of honey for sore throat.

Vicks vapo rub on my forehead, throat and sometimes even in warm milk! lol

Mineral oil to help dump

A shot, or 2, of Blackberry Brandy for girly cramps (this worked)

Tweetcareful with the mineral oil............not that it happened to me but someone I know (me) took a teaspoon and nothing happened so he took more and nothing happened so he took a huge 1/4 cup and all hell broke loose............by all hell I mean I thought my guts were going to fly out my ass. I was in the toilet at work for 90 minutes straight. the secretary's sent someone in to check on me. when I was done I had to take the walk of shame right in front of them.

those are the only two that come to mind at the moment. i remember the castor oil the most. i would go to school sick as a dog not to have to drink that crap

lol, havent used that since I was a kid

I did a survival challenge fro a week. we were constantly dehydrated and ate pretty much all jerky and dehydrated foods. mineral oil saved me and cursed me at the same time HAHA

TweetI remember getting a mix of honey, a very small amount of whiskey and lemon juice mixed together. That was the remedy for sore throats and coughs. I still make it to this day when I get sick, just a bit more whiskey lol.
