I am a reader and have read a couple good ones. Anyone read one that they really took something from? I have one that I go back to so much that the book looks weathered, lol

Ive read a lot of them. Recently bought Meditations of Marcus Aurelius. Ive been reading a little of it here and there. Its not easy reading, kind of like the bible, but full of good wisdom

I don't know if they're technically considered self help books, but I've read several by Dale Carnegie. I always take away a lot from his books.

Most definitely dale carnegie. He was one of the early self help gurus. How to win friends and influence people!!! I found that book when I was 14 years old and read thru it with a fine tooth comb. One time I told my friends at school about the book, they all laughed. So from then on, that book was my secret weapon. Changed my life at 14 years old. I bet my old friends who laughed wish they had read that book now. lol

I did read Men are from Mars Women are from Venus, back when I was a teen, lol. I am thinking I need to read it again now. here are couple other good ones that I thought were great reads.

The Power of Positive Thinking Paperback by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

      LOVE- by Leo Buscaglia

Also a few of Suzanne Summers books

      Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain

      A Million Little Pieces
      by James Frey

I like to read about many different things whether they apply to me or not. Helps me be more empathetic towards others. Most of these here I read back in my 20's.
