      Default Divorce

I have seen so much amongst my daughters friends and some even currently going through this now. It is hard enough being a kid in this day let alone going through this. If anyone cares to share, if your parents divorced when you were young, how do you think it affected you then

Parents divorced when I was 12. I took it in stride. Personally been divorced a couple times. It sucks for sure. Really hard for some kids and easier on others. I think if kids are in tune with their parents and they know they are unhappy it can be easier shoot maybe even better

That sounds like my x wife but lucky we had no kids. I went the same route drinking and drugs. That was about 20 years ago. It took me many years to get over it. I have now been married for 9 years and have 2 amazing kids. A daughter 5 and a son 2. In times of unhappyness my wife and I have thrown around the word divorce but really I never want to be without her and I hope vice versa. Being single sucked

My mother divorced my father when I was 2. We really never saw my father after that until I was 15 I searched him out. It wasn't good he was an alcoholic and had ptsd from Vietnam. About 1-2 yrs later he killed himself. My whole memory my mom was married to my step father. Who was abusive to me and my brother but the hardest thing was after I got out of Marine Corps boot camp they divorced. Even though he emotionally and physically abused my brother and I he was good to my mom. I always thought they had the love I wanted to emulate, a true love. Then were divorced even thought they still loved each other. I can just imagion going through that as a kid, it was hard enough being 20.

My wife and I have talked divorce several times. My daughter is an only child and it makes me sad anytime I think about this. My wife is a good person. We are just very different in some important key factors. My daughter is a mamas girl, so I know i would hardly ever see her if we divorced. I care about my wife but my daughter keeps me going.

I did see this video and thought it was a great point. It is funny my daughter has asked my wife and I several times if we love each other. She is 5 years old and is already picking up when we argue and can tell when we are not happy. This makes me sad.

My kids went from happy to sad overnight as soon as I was locked out of the house, they also were devastated.

But today I am so glad I am divorced from my first wife because my wife now is soooooooooooooooooooooo much better that the first one.
Gosh, I just feel so bad for you bro that you ever had to experience that. Especially the kids. Hope they are doing good. Thats awesome that you are with someone like the woman your with now. Now you can really appreciate what a good woman can do. Its amazing how things can work out for the best with the right attitude.

my folks are still together gratefully, my buddy just went through it after 28 years of marriage, his boys are in their mid to late 20s. he waited until they are all done with college. he is the happiest I have ever seen him.

i hate to see a marriage break up when the couple does not even try to make it work.
