Tweethe is flying up to Chicago to visit a school friend. He is 17, and responsible but i still have a bit of anxiety.
All will be good but I am a parent. any tips on dealing with letting my boy stretch his wings?

TweetI am sure that is a bit scary. I would be a scared to. Sounds like you have taught him well though. he is actually going to Chicago? AS anyone should, just be careful if he goes downtown

TweetI wish I could offer some help but my son is only six so the most he has done is sleep at one friends house so far. With that our biggest fear is that he wouldn't behave and embarrass us. I believe when the time comes we have to believe that we taught them right and let them go. Easier said than done. My son is a very big people pleaser and a little bit of a follower so I have some anxiety already.
Tweetthanks y'all. he is staying in deer park and they are going into chicago for the museums and such. he said the flight was horrible we had bad weather here so it was delayed an hour and then once they did take off it was a bumpy ass ride but he is there.
i told him not to take his expensive headphones or flash around his iphone. i read people will snatch them and run.
TweetLots of protesting going on downtown but he will be fine at the Museums. Tell him to hit the mall at Deer Park and eat at Biaggis if he can

TweetI would just kinda have a loose schedule of communication in place. Make sure you know how to contact him if you need to and let him know that a call or text would be appreciated and go a long way. Let him know you trust his judgement and see how he does. My 15 year old is going to Chicago with his school show choir and I am nervous even though its supervised. Part of being a parent I guess.

Tweethe is having a great time. he is actually staying in deer park with his friend.we pick him up saturday. i will feel relieved when he is home. but he has never done anything to make me think we should not trust him so I will give him some leash, when he is 18 he can do pretty much as he chooses although as long as he lives here, my house my rules.
