I am 100% on board for women to have a shot at whatever they want as long as it does not put others in jeopardy. I work with 2 former marines who are adamant about not having women in combat. there have been studies that having men only in combat if far superior than mixed company.

if i got shot and was in peril for one, i would rather have a 170# due pull me to safety over a 130# female. Who is stronger? as a whole men are on average WAY stronger. are there women stronger than some men. yeah but look at the big picture.

this PC bullshit puts peoples lives at risk, will cause distractions, competition of a female's affection (most guys are unmarried young men with tons of hormones)

there is a reason women do not play men in sports like football, basketball, or even tennis or golf.

women are different than men, why does everybody have to say a woman can do anything a man can? hell women are better multitaskers. i have no prob with that.

      what is your feeling?

here is my problem with this for starters. they alter standards to let them in for one. the other side of this and everyone loves studies: the marine corps has ran numerous studies with all the stats of women working in combat. they have been proven time and time again to not be as effective. women dont perform at the same level, women get hurt more and women require far more logistical support on the front lines. that's not me being a sexist, that's me quoting the findings of these studies that were done over years. i have been on small teams myself where my team mates couldnt pick me up and carry me if i went down. so how in the hell could a chick do so, it took two guys to move me. also let's look at the amount of weight that has to be carried and with all the ecms and other added bs body armor and everything else. you are looking at a standard rifleman packing up to almost 100lbs of gear on top of their body weight and then having to fight when he reaches the objective. now go ahead and add on radios or crew served weapons, ammo for crew served weapons and on and on. these jobs are not for the weak and men do fail as well but not at as high of a rate as women do. we could also delve into the same issue i have with open homosexuals in the ranks. now your squad leader, platoon sgt company gunny and first sgt has to worry about people fucking and all kinds of other issues while down range when they should be doing other things. now you just opened up another stressor and more crap for the leadership to have to worry about and deal with.
our gov and the leadership coming from them absolutely make me freaking sick and ashamed at the lack of common sense. hell wait till you see some dead female soldiers being dragged around the cities by mobs. the wounded women on the front pages of newspaprers etc.... we have a hard enough time as it is dealing with combat and the public supporting us. now you add this shit on top of it. wow

Like guns said its common freakin sense like any other bullshit PC topic we talk about. It's hard to imagine what people are thinking.
Like I said last time this was brought up. Set up a women's only platoon and see how they do. I wish them the best but I don't think they would be very effective.
What is someone's rebuttal to that? It's not fair? We're talking about war here. If they belong in a combat role they should be able to operate as just women just like men can operate with just men.
I guess if they are held to the INDENTICAL standards as men that's fine.
They should not be a categorized within the training class trying to pass. Ranger class off 100, well if that girl makes it through there better not be 1 man who did better than her that didn't make it.
If there is some type of shortage of soldiers then this subject might be something to visit but I do not think that is the case here.
Speaking of that how did this come about?

I am a former Army Ranger...

When we invaded Panama I had a rucksack that weighed around 130 or so including rounds ...and I was around 230 then....

With all of the physical things associated with the service women will hold weight, but will not hold what they need...IM just saying...

So when a 130 pound woman jumps out of a damn chopper with 130 pounds....well you do the math...

I have a Ranger buddy that was there too. got his leg re-arranged by a 7.62. People do not remember Panama. Hell I know I forgot until I met my pal.

yeah if a woman can do the job then fine but do not lower standards.
