Tweetany vegetable oil, I use wesson. Run it through a whatman filter, add a little ba to be sure. I don't bake, but if you do, don't bake too long or your oil will turn rancid.
TweetIs it possible to use an oil like sesameoil, veggi oil or some other oil to make your own sterile one for inj. ??
Do you know where one could read about this, tips and so on?

TweetYeah, don't bake it. It's not needed. I use sesame oil and filter through a 0.2 micron filter into a sterile vial. That is a small enough filter to take out ALL bacteria; even spores.

I found this thread via search and I'd just like to confirm some things;
1) I go to a supermarket and buy normal oil, like sunflower oil
2) Warm it up a bit, just so that it flows better, and filter it through a 0.2 micron filter into a sterile vial
How long does it take to filter, let's say 100ml of oil with a 0.2 micron filter? I would assume... very long...
TweetI like to use sesame oil
I definitely do bake it, in a muffin pan. I don't care what people say, I don't believe a filter sterilizes the oil.
I don't want to get toned, I just want to become a fucking freak.

Then ya don't know how small a .2 micron filter is.
Knowledge is power.
TweetLOL, Yeah, your hands will be VERY tired. What I do is just make up my supplement solution with the oil, BB, and BA and filter the finished solution into a sterile vial through a 0.2 micron filter.Originally posted by trenboloni

orion76 - You are welcome to your opinion. However, I am a scientist in a facility that works with all kinds of different cell lines. Bacterial contamination in the cell culture would destroy the cells; even ONE bacterium or spore would multiply and thrive under the ideal growth conditions the cells are maintained under. The way we sterilize our cell culture medium is by filtering through a 0.2 micron filter; we don't bake or autoclave it as that would destroy it.
If it works that well for sensitive cell cultures, it is good enough for me.
Incidently, some types of bacteria and spores (staph for example) can withstand hundreds of degrees or even bleach. Baking is NOT a good way to sterilize anything. I have a good friend who got a staph infection that way; He baked his gear at 250 deg F for an hour and thought it was good enough. Guess what; it wasn't.
The average diameter of bacteria is 0.5 to 0.6 microns. The average size of spores is 0.3 to 0.4 microns. A 0.2 micron filter will catch 100% of bacteria and spores.

TweetYeah I know the size of the smallest bacteria is 0.5 micron, what I mean is I don't trust those filters enough to actually filter out particles that small, not the cheap disposable ones anyway.
Heating is a small effort to be double safe, it only takes one abcess to ruin your physique for life.

Tweetyea it is. filter and bake. you can bake ure oil before mixing it with the hormones then filter and once done bake again.
TweetGuys listen to spidey...I also work in a Virology/micro lab. We also use .2 micron filters to remove all types bacteria for the solutions that are used in our tissue and cell cultures. We also use .1 micron filters to remove viruses! Virus particals are very very small and the filters catch them. We use the filters to remove various pox viruses.

TweetGuys when we use gear out of a multi-use vial more often that not we are injecting ourselves with bacteria and probabbly mold spores and dust. When you draw back air in the pin guess what...you are sucking dust, bacteria, dander and all kinds of shit into the needle and putting it into the vial.
The kicker is the BA is a bacteriostat...keeps those guys from growing and multiplying in the gear. Our bodies can handle small amounts of pathogenic meterial, we have an immune system(unless you have AIDS) that will take care of small amounts. Don't think your gear is clean just because you don't get infections.

TweetRelying on baking for sterilization is not "playing it safe". It is downright dangerous in fact.Originally posted by orion76

Spores like staph can withstand several hundred degrees. They are among the most hardy things on the planet. They can withstand not only extreme heat but also exteme cold and even chemical disinfectants like straight bleach.
If you want to bake your gear and risk slightly decomposing it then fine; be my guest. But at least filter it as well.
I guarentee that one of these days you WILL get an infection if you don't and you'll end up in the hospital on IV antibiotics like my friend (if you're lucky).
BTW, I took the gear he gave himself the staph infection with (that he had baked) and filtered it into a sterile vial through a 0.2 micron filter and used it myself; I did not get even a red mark, little lone an infection.

And we're talking about sterilizing oil, purchased in a supermarket, not about baking oil that is carrying gear. I would never bake my roids.
