TweetJust received a phone call from a lady who lives near me, who said she has received 4 automated phone calls from my phone # asking if she would like to save money on her mortgage.
Just checked out Lifelock, which is $9.99 for the basic plan. Im thinking I will join up with their standard plan. They contact you if theres ever anything suspicious. Anyone used Lifelock? Had your identity compromised?

Use code 'Baby1' for $5 off your order
TweetNot per say, but I tried to order something from a company that was supposed to be in the U.S. but the charges came from Australia and it was a fraudulent company apparently bc they tried to charge my card multiple times and for things i also didnt order but my bank caught it for me the next day and canceled everything. So I didnt loose any $$ and i got a new debit card. but it could be easily done to anyone, and the sad thing is the more technology advances its just getting easier and easier to be a victim of fraud. There are entire websites dedicated to selling peoples info, its just sick.
Animal the manimal
TweetYes, no kidding. Heard that selling lists of SS#s is big business. Anyone working in a bank or doctors office could do it
Ok, I am going to get Lifelock. The $9.99 a month standard membership is what Im going to get. They have deluxe membership for 29.99 a month but I dont know if I need that or not.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
TweetI've never had a problem.. I don't use my bank (debit card) that much I use my American express or discover card bc of those issues...my brother had some issues with my father but I've never had a issue..
I know its a pita for those who have it on there credit you would think the government would step in but no they sit back and watch
TweetI've had a couple family members go through it and it sucked for them. I've been thinking about getting LifeLock for some time now too. I think I'm gonna go ahead and sign up. Better to be safe than sorry.
Tweetno, we have no $$$ to steal. my wife keeps talking about a credit service like lifelock
TweetMy wife had her identity stolen by her mother when she was a teenager. Her mother got a credit card and a car loan in my wife's name when she was 17. We didn't find out until we went to apply for our first new car loan. She also had her identity stolen by her sister as a young adult for a Victoria's Secret card and a discover card. None of those debts were ever paid and the credit counselor said the only way to get them removed from her records was to have her mother and sister arrested and she didn't want to do that. Since she was still in high school at the time and only worked in the summer at her mothers ice cream stand for free, I think it's pretty ludicrous that any creditor would approve an application with her information.
TweetDone I have a lot of insight on this if you need help.

TweetYes ive been hacked four times over the years, bank account was completely gone, took suntrust 2 weeks to get my money back.
2015 - Filing taxes this year i had my SSN used to file fraudulent tax return, then my credit card was hacked again, so thats five times total. Social security admin office has no record of me in their system and then i just recieved a letter from the SSA stating they too 9k out of my social security because i worked for myself last year which is completely false.
Ive got it badddddddddddd!
Tweetwho are you using?
I got a safe-mail account and haven't been able to get in it for several days now
TweetWell, ironic, two days after I post this on here, my new accountant is going through old bank statements and he calls me and asks me what about all these payments to Sprint. I have NEVER had a Sprint account but found out TODAY Ive been paying Sprint about $275 a month for over a year. I called Sprint and they are investigating. My bank said sorry, they cant help me since the charges stopped in July and she said its been too long. I really dont know what to do. It was thousands of dollars. I dont think I have any recourse. Do I? Crap.
