Karen Campbell hit a World Record Bench Press of 501.5 at the WABDL World Cup in April of this year. At that time many of us who saw it with our own eyes (I actually was a side judge) could hardly believe our eyes.
Well she did it again! Here is video of Karen killing a 512.5 lbs bench press in single ply gear. Karen competed in the 198 Lb. class weighing in at 196.2!

Tweetyou dont understand the mechanics of power lifting then. they use the shortest range possible with in the rules to move as much weight as possible. they master these types of techniques to hit crazy high numbers. cool thing about it is most of them can do god awful amounts of weight full range as well. also the techniques they use differ from individual to individual based off of their arm lengths and other factors. power lifting is all about moving as much weight as possible and in as short a distance as possible. they could care less about how they look or max time under tension when it comes to their lifts

TweetYea i dont know anything about that type of lifting, thats cool i didnt know that was the route they take to do a rep. Hey she benches more than me lol
To me the best feeling is when you get the biggest stretch possible in a movement you know youre getting max effort out of the muscle.
Tweetthat's what i was saying. a power lifter and strength athlete could care less about stretch or contraction or even feel for that matter. they want to move the biggest amount of weight possible with the shortest legal stroke possible. time under tension stretch and all the other principles that body builders and fitness enthusists use has no real significant impact on what they do. that's why you will see dudes that weight anywhere from 170-400lbs squatting 800 to well over 1k pounds and their legs are actually pretty small. take a look at chris duffen and clint darden (house of biceps guy) i am pretty sure that's his name. dude is a world record holder in the squat if i am not mistaken at 170 or 180s and his legs are nothing special at all

Tweetya thats true, i was watching some videos after that one and the really strong guys arent the biggest. I mean a world record holder under 200lbs i dont even see how thats possible.
