chemical ablation of the thyroid

TweetI am due to get a chemical ablation of my thyroid due to what the called a thyroid storm (goiter went ballistic)
It caused a host of problems for me. I won't go into detail ATM
The want me to take a radioactive iodine to ablate my thyroid. Is this a good idea or is surgery better?
Will it nuke my whole thyroid or the goiter?
When in the doctor office I forget to ask these things

Tweetdirt as you know i am damn sure not a doctor by any stretch of the imagination and could be completely wrong but i believe that procedure will wipe them both out. again i am going off prob something i saw on the news on one of the cancer doctor programs

TweetI would think it would get rid of both? My aunt had this done years ago and has taken thyroid replacement ever since. I would suggest calling the doc, or seeing him before, and go over these questions with him You need to know all risk and such beforehand, imo
