TweetIs it possible that an injury to a strength athlete is capable of inducing depression or depression like symptoms. Thoughts.

TweetFor sure max! The injury pain, loss of strength, and other things alone can make you depressed. It is vicious cycle, the pain alone from the injury can cause the depression and then the depression can cause more pain. Its our lovely endocrine system that is greatly affected by both. I hope things get better and believe me, I feel your pain.

TweetDefinitely can cause depression -- been there...done that...got the stupid t-shirt. Best thing to do, is stay active. You might not be able to lift or stay with your training routine, but it doesn't mean you can't take up another form of activity that doesn't exacerbate the injury. For example, swimming, cycling, squatting, rowing, etc... be creative.
TweetInjuries suck. No doubt about it. It affects your life. Ya, stay active and keep control of your thoughts as best ya can. Attitude affects how fast we heal and it is tough to keep a healing mindset when we are in pain
TweetOh yeah Big time. I went through it when I had all my surgeries not being able to work out is horrible

TweetIt's a lifestyle to me kinda like a job u love when it's taken away for a while it sucks
TweetThe loss of routine can effect you also. If possible still go to the gym. Hel others that need it and stay busy without hurting yourself. Main thing is seek and follow dr advice. You are issued one body so take care of it.
TweetFuzo still went to the gym everyday after all his surgeries. he would find something to do even if it was just ride the bike. I think just being in there helped him

TweetPlus, its a time when your nutrition should be more dialed in than ever. Loading up on the good supplements and getting loads of nutrients that your body needs to heal. Depression can lead to poor nutrition which leads to more depression and so on until you feel totally like shit.
TweetNo doubt. Been there and done that several times!
