If it hurt at spots, then was probably a TP. usually if they work on a spot and it refers pain to another area than you can best bet it is trigger points. usually need to keep up with those every so often and do some of your own with a tennis ball or foam roller.

hey horse take a look around you for some dry needling therapy and muscle graffing/scraping. gusto made the suggestion to me about the dry needling and the doc set me up with the graffing scraping. they do them all over your body wherever you are injured. i tweaked my knee a couple months back. it was so irritated that i couldnt lock it out to flex my quad correctly. after 1 session i was squatting medium weight and flexing it correctly with very little pain or tightness. i am a huge believer in these techniques now because i am right at 100%. it does hurt pretty badly but man it is super effective

i was nervous about it myself man but it freaking works. my doc was telling me she does sinuses for blocked sinuses, head and neck for head aches and pretty much anywhere in the body that is injured. she was putting them all over my quad ham and knee area. the small amount of swelling i had went away almost immediately

no it is completely different than acupuncture. she explained the difference to me but it was over my head lol. the gist that i took from the difference is that accupuncture focuses on specific areas of specific parts while dry needling can and is used in areas and surrounding areas that are affected by injury or whathaveyou. idk the exact mechs that make it work but for me i could tell a huge difference right away. idk about having needles stuck into my face head and neck but my doc says they are super tiny and you would be blown away at how effective it works. i am the kind of person though that if it hurts bad enough i am willing to try pretty much anything to avoid taking meds. i will say the inner thigh calf and ham hurts a bit when it goes in but those areas are really tight on me all the time

I know accupuncture is about "meridians" in the body but that's about all I know.

yeah and these are like hair thin needles. different lengths and different sizes for the areas being worked. it does something to open areas up to allow nerves and muscles to fire properly and bring healing into the area or something like that. she explained it all to me but that's what i took from it in a nut shell. the sinuses she says opens the area up and reduces the swelling just like it does for a tendon or muscle injury. it is actually really cool therapy that for the most part is painless and pretty quick. she even hooked up the e-stims to mine and ran current through one side then the other and then together. it is pretty cool

fuzo had it done a couple times on his knee many years ago. he said it did nothing but I think he needed more sessions. he wasn't a big believer in it either and sometimes I think that plays a part in any treatment, you know?\

make sure you tell them what you do and that you arent going to stop. my doc said that for a normal person they would have just told them to stop squatting after the first 3wks of work but since i am an athlete they took it much further. even when the normal pain stopped from regular movements but it still came on when i went for speed and explosiveness out of the hole, she worked on me more aggressively and for a lot longer. i have really good speed and explosiveness now with barely any pain whatsoever. just make sure you let them know you are a strength athlete and it is imperative for your performance haha. it worked for me
