I have always driven fords but i dont like the looks of the latest body style. anyone drive a dodge or gm truck, full size half ton? those dodges that come with the hemi engine and 20" rims look good but i have heard of probs with the transmissions. i really hate to get rid of mine but its old, it still runs good but it has 85000 miles and i normally get a new one every 4 years i kept this f-150 since 95 with no problems.

      ive driven them both.

want to go faster when you hit the pedal? get a chevy or hemi dodge. chevys have a much better resale value then the ford trucks, but even the best chevy fans say ford trucks will last longer into the 150k + miles range. so its really what you are looking for. want more power? go somewhere else, want something that is supposed to run forever? get another ford or even stick with yours. but the way i look at it, i'd rather have the chevy with more power, that holds a better resale value, and get a new one every few years. then again i'm a bowtie fan

Got 130k on my '92 Silverdao Ext. Cab.
In the same boat, just got the check for hail damage and wondering....
Mine runs like a champ, although have always babied it, oil transmission and differenttial changes, flushes, etc. always replacing stuff before breaks etc. Except for hail damage in mint condition.
Spent some time at the lot sunday night....hmmm
If mine wasn't free and clear, and it didn't look so sweet, got a set of custom centerlines on it....oh well

IMHO, the quality ofall the trucks built today are lots better than even 7-8 years ago, so really can't go wrong with almost any of them

      Good Luck

i wish i could have a lightning but i need the 4 door they only come single cab. and 4 wheel drive is a must. i really like the dodges i may just buy a mustang gt and keep my truck then i can have best of both worlds except the extra insurance payment. we have chevys at work and we drive em hard they are all breaking down with less than 15k miles but they ride and drive great

I have a Ram 1500 and have been very happy with it. The transmissions are a little weak on them (so I have heard) but I have not had a problem with mine. Adding a shift kit will greatly extend the life of the tranny - Mopar offers one that will not void your warranty if installed at the ******.

I love how the word "deal er" is filtered.

Everytime I'm trying to figure out what the cuss word was...

Go with the one with best warranty. That way if it does break they can fix the dam thing.
All the 1/2 tons seem to be fairly matched at the moment.
Drive one of each and see what one you like best.

      Good luck
