Tweetthere are so many good ones on the market. of course the first that comes to mind is the ruger 10-22. i have a real nice one with a fluted barrel and comp stock but it is heavy and only fun to shoot at 60+ yards.
i want a little .22 rifle I can put a reflex on and ping some steel at 5-15 yards. i had a savage that was a good shooter but no aftermarket parts. mossberg has the plinkster tactical which looks great and has good reviews Mossberg Plinkster Tactical Rimfire Rifle-GM436479 - Gander Mountain definately looks cool but i have a CMMG .22 conversion for my AR15 that works great.
marlin makes a great .22 rifle but not as much aftermarket (but i really don't want to do too much to it.)
of course a stock 10-22 is still high on my list
i just need a light, accurate at close distance, durable rifle that I can mount optics on and there must be high cap mags available. any suggestions?

TweetMan does the 10/22 bring back memories. Great for a kid when he's ready. We had a 50rd banana clip for it. The squirrels thought they were in WW3.
I also have a marlin lever action that is a blast to shoot. Thing is deadly with just the peep site. Did a Turkey shoot with it and kicked ass.

Tweetruger 10/22
Tweetruger 10/22 hands down. the ONLY reason i dont have one is becuase when i was going to buy it my buddy had a brand new savage arms .22lr that was still in an unopened box with recepeits and everything with ammo for $100 bucks so i just got that instead.

TweetI like rugers, had a few marlins they're good too. I think i remember Remington having a semi-auto .22 magnum, which seemed pretty nice.
TweetI live my 10-22 I dropped a good amount of money into with custom stock barrel scoop mounts and all the goodies. I can drive nails with it for sure. Live these things. I wanna get a 10-22 mag and turn it into a 17 hornet

OH MY! that is sweet but damn too expensive. I have a tricked out 10-22 that is a tack driver i want a "play around" .22 ...........nice rifle
i am going with a 10-22. i found a stainless one with camo poly stock for $239!!!!!!!! the regular blue with hickory stock is $200.
Tweethere are my .22s. (well i traded the savage .22 but i still have the 10-22 and the cricket)
my 10-22 is a tackdriver at 100 yards on a bench. it is heavy and the optics are 8X so it is not even fun to shoot up close. i want to put a little reflex on a stock 10-22 and speed plink steel for time. so light is important.
TweetSweet. How was the savage arms? I have the same one but still haven't shot it yet

Tweetit is really accurate for a cheap rifle. trigger is decent and it never misfired or FTF. i got it on black friday for $100 but there is no aftermarket support for it.
TweetWent to Gander Mountain with my son yesterday after the Dallas Cowboy loss to look at camping gear. Asked the gun clerk if he had any 10-22s. he said yes and went in back to get one as there were no more on the shelf.
he said they were on sale. i figured retail for a poly stock 10-22 is $275-290. when he told me $200 I said done. he also had bulk boxes of .22 ammo for those that bought a rifle.
happy
TweetNice. I may need to run by our Gander here and pickup Jacob a .22. We were in Walmart the other night and I stopped by to look at the ammo like I always do....the shelves were full. I picked up a box of .40 and some .223. Although in hindsight, I probably should have bought some 556 as they were quite a bit cheaper.
They had bulk boxes of .40 but I didn't want to spend a ton just yet.

TweetI got a 10-22 with stainless barrel and polymer stock. Since the stock is hollow not sure how to screw on a sling mount. Any ideas?
Tweeti don;t know. I know they make mounts for $10 but i have not looked to see if there are screw holes in the stock or you have to put your own
