Saw an ortho to make sure there were no stress fractures stuff like that. I was told I have lateral & medial epicondylitis in both elbows. She is a good doc and non invasive when it comes to injuries and she tells it how it is. Told me it will get better but I may need to lay off the weights a little bit. She made me an appt with a physio.

I eat rice for for breakfast, lunch, dinner, before bed, post wo. I tried elbow sleeves, the tennis & golfers elbow bands with the pads on them, elastic therapeutic tape. Pretty much no miracles and I cannot say I am surprised. BTW I kept the receipts to all of those products and got my money back.

So now am just sticking with what I have been doing all along and that is rice and using my preferred muscle cream and doing my 30 mins of stretches. I just started doing self acupressure aka thumb walking. For the last 15 wks I have been doing 5x5 SL I'd pick the absolute heaviest weight I could do and do it 5 times for 5 sets. I gained awesome strength and hard muscles.

Muscles seem to get stronger quicker than ligaments and tendons. So to switch things up and work on getting the ligaments and tendons to catch up I am going to put more tension time on my muscles and switch to a more hypertrophic routine. Instead of 80%-90% 1RM 5x5 switch to 65%-75% 1RM 3x10 with a little longer rest time btwn sessions. Maybe I will build some more mass to go along with my new strength. I did gain quite a bit doing 3x10 back in the day.

Thought I would share. It's been a while. Comments, suggestions, inquires about Ben the Cow, you know what to do.

I am an old dog. it took me months to finally make the move to 5x5. I am glad I did now but now I have to switch away from this and the old dog in me is creeping up lol.

Obviously you went all out on legs still but for your upper body did you do something similar to what I am switching to?

I had some severe medial epicondylitis. Its healed now. I used massive amounts of antioxidants, stretched and tried to back off a little on exercises that hurt. Hanging from pullup bar with straps really helped to stretch my elbows. Good luck.

I like the hanging idea. Did using straps make for a better stretch?

Following in the footsteps of yates, cutler, and johnson going to get the most out of my hypertrophic phase and do a 4x12 high volume base. That'll shock the shit out of my muscles and get my tendons up to level. Tried it today and it wasnt too bad on the elbows. I hung from my stair railings for 5 mins before hitting the gym in addition to my stretches and thumb walks. Almost a decade in this game and i still get giddy starting new routines, supplements, compounds, doses...Im out fellas.

I was food shopping and I hadnt been down the supplement and first aid aisle and Mueller Tennis Elbow Brace Support w/ Gel Pad Adjustable was on sale. I have checked out other tennis/golfer elbow padded straps but the air cushion popped or they didn't fit. I have 14" forearms and these actually fit so I got 2 for under 20. I tried them out and did some skullcrushers til failure and my triceps wore out before my elbows did.

Has this ever happened to anyone else with this kind of product? am i causing damage somewhere else and I just dont know it? will i become dependent on these? I am really at a lose what to think about this. I was using less weight but blasted out rep after rep after rep.

Yes! Definitely. I could relax my grip and let everything stretch-forearms, shoulders and back. I think doing a lot of pullups seemed to make my elbows feel better..go figure.

Fuzo has been wearing these for years, and it surely has not hindered his gains

Thanks BABY1. I needed that assurance. Doc said once the flare up starts to subside they may help.

Side note: Unfortunately, the tennis/golfers elbow brace support only worked that once. Leads me to believe they didn't do much of anything and I was just having a good elbow day. Anyway, thanks again.

I will have Fuzo post the ones he uses. He never works out without them no matter what he does
