  • EFF ME AND MY ELBOWS

    OK..AWILE BACK I GAVE MYSELF A PARTIAL DISTAL TENDON TEAR IN MY LEFT BICEP. PAINFUL, BUT USEABLE WHEN WRAPPED AND ABLE TO STILL WORKOUT. ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO MY RIGHT ELBOW JUST WENT KABLOOYEE...HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE DOC YET BUT I'M LEANIN TOWARD AN ULNA DISPLACEMENT OR TENNIS ELBOW TYPE INJURY. COMPLETELY USELESS. CAN'T GRIP ANYTHING WITHOUT MIND NUMBING PAIN...CAN'T SWING A HAMMER A WORK, CAN'T SHAKE HAND, AND LIFTING...FORGET IT..CAN'T EVEN HAVE A CATCH WITH THE KIDS...

    HAS ANYONE HAD ANY SIMILAR INJURY? I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG TO PREPARE MYSELF TO BE LIKE THIS. EVEN SITTING HERE IN THE TYPING POSITION I WANT TO PUNCH SUMPIN CAUSE IT HURTS...BUT I CAN'T MAKE A FIST..LOL..

    PRETTY BUMMED OUT CAUSE THE GYM IS WHERE ALL THE FRUSTRATIONS GET GONE FROM THE HEAD AND I'M BEYOND FRUSTRATED...NOT SURE WHAT I CAN DO TO HELP MYSELF AT THIS POINT...ICE, ADVIL, HEAT...NOTHING HAS ALLEVIATED IT AT ALL.. GONNA MAKE AN APPOINTMENT THIS WEEK

    Sorry to hear this Zoot! Could be that a nerve is entraped and that is why nothing is helping it? Nerve pain sucks and time off usually will help but maybe a cortisone injection would help? See what the doc says and get yourselg a magnesium supp and some b-complex. both are great for the nervous system

            Get well. You may just have to kill your legs and let that elbow heel. You can still workout. Just grow some tree trunks.

              Great point bro...I kinda needed that bump, no excuse to not do sumpin. Gotta stop bein a miserable prick and be as productive as I can while healing

                My experience with elbow tendon issues is rest doesn't work. Taking time off and it seems better and it creeps right back. I would still get it checked out but something's to start on now:

                -ice/heat
                -electric stim (do it! It helps)
                -use a baseball or something similar to vigorously rub tendons and work them hard
                -^^^do the same but use ice, work it hard
                -lastly work the reverse grip. Best way is to stick your hand in sand or pea gravel about a foot (using sword like hand) and then ball fist, and then open up fingers while raising them out of the sand.
                -you can also do this reverse grip with a band but I think sand is more effective.

                ***oh also Dzone had a link to a Chinese online store that sold various fighter type liniments. They work! I use the tendon trauma one, smells like soy sauce btw.
