so my problem is when i started 3 weeks ago i was 220lbs, and now im 220.5lbs. i figured from what i have done in previous years that i should be around 215 by the 3 week marker, so if im not over thinking this im trying to figure out is it my diet, or my training routine, or both? this is my first time to incorporate the 3 day split routine in a cutter, and felt it would be a great change to the typical 1 body part a week ive been doing for the last few months.

Here is my input on the nutrition part:

First off, you are taking in roughly about 2000.

Are you figuring the fat calories in for all of the whole eggs you are eating? If not, I think that morning meal should include mostly egg whites instead of all whole eggs. Maybe 6 whites and 2 whole, or all egg whites. That being said, going to all whites will take down the calories so I would up the complex carbs a bit.

Is meal 3 your PW shake? Or do you even have one? For post work out shake I would a 2 to 1 ratio, meaning carbs 2 and protein 1. For example, for you it would be 46-92 grams carbs, to 23-46 grams. Stay towards the lower end of these ranges for cutting and the higher end for mass gaining. This should be drank within a 1/2 hour of your lifting session. Than follow up with your meal about an hour later. I followed this and it made a big difference in my abdominal area. I used have a banana with whey for my PW shake and it really helped. You could also buy a PW drink.

The other meals look pretty good. Is meal 5 your "before bed" meal?

Still think you should be taking more than 2000 calories a day in? I plugged your stats into a calculator in this is what it came up with:

BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) Daily Calorie Calculator

This BMR tool works on a proven formula and is very accurate. The calculator uses two formulas to calculate your body's daily calorie requirements.
      1. Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) Formula
The basal metabolic rate formula takes several variables like height, weight, age and gender to calculate your calorie needs as if you did not do any exercise.
      2. Harris Benedict Formula
The Harris Benedict Formula takes the number produced by the BMR formula and multiplies it depending on your activity level.
The only factor it omits is lean body mass and thus the ratio of muscle-to-fat a body has. Remember, leaner bodies need more calories than less leaner ones. Therefore, this equation will be very accurate in all but the very muscular (will underestimate calorie needs) and the very overweight (will over-estimate calorie needs).

Your Daily Calorie Requirements Are: 3318 Calories Per Day

i shouldve included my calorie intake but have not been keeping up with that recently. i am not including the fat calories from the egg yokes, and yes i am figuring my post workout shake as meal #3, which i know most of you prolly would disagree with being listed as a meal.

the diet theory i was going off of was one that i used half way through my cutter last year, which seemed to do the trick. that theory is to increase the protein intake in each meal while not eating over a 100 g of carbs a day, and the carb intake is in the 1st half of the day, so for example i would try to eat all my carbs by 3 o'clock.

thanks for the feedback baby. i could increase the brown rice intake by adding it in to my post workout shake (just blend it up) or add a serving to meal #2. I am thinking i need to break up the 1st 2 meals into 3, lower the protein portioning to 6- 8 oz, and there i could add in some more complex carbs. this should also help with bumping up my metabolism as well.

the only problem i am experiencing is that in the first half of the day i have literally like no appetite at all, so eating takes me at least an hour to put down my meals now.

i would take away the almonds in your post workout and increase the carbs in there. you need the fast carbs and protein postworkout to get to those muscles. adding fat to that can slow down the protein. try that out. the banana and whey always worked great for me pw. cut down on those whole eggs and get you fats from the almonds, avocado, or other good fats

the cutting theory i was using also extended on not eating any fruit at all. i dont have a problem with consuming a banana post workout, just thinking that the fructose may create some complications with burning fat. i was leaning more towards oatmeal blended up in my shake post workout. your thoughts?

well the oatmeal is def better tha having the fat, but banana, blueberries are what i would do. i undertand about the 'no fruit' thing but bananas and berries are good for you. you could try alternating things too?
