TweetLearned something new at my cardiologist yesterday. I told you a few weeks back that, out of no where, I passed out. Suffered a concussion, spent the night in hosptial getting tested and finally relaeased with not much of a conclusion. Recommended i do a followup with my cardiologist which i did yestereday.
Anyway this gets its name form the vagus nerve, part of the central nervous system. Basically it controls the rythums and pace of your internals under certain circumstances, like when at rest or doing activity. Strangely enough there are triggers that can make this nerve do the opposite of what it supposed to do under certain curcumstances. Example is when a person sees blood and passes out due to the nerve quickly reducing the blood flow to the brain. Or, if you've ever experienced a panic attack while sleeping or resting and your heart starts to race a mile a minute, get hot and nausiated.
Very common for people to experience and this cardioologist is attributing my episode to this. interesting read.
