We have been told since we were children that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Now that we are older we know this to be true. Breakfast provides us with the energy and nutrients that help us get our day started. Skipping breakfast results in feeling hungry all day and leads to us eating more than we should. The main reason that many of us skip breakfast is that we are usually short on time in the mornings and are rushing to get where we need to be. Below are some examples of healthy breakfasts that can be eaten on the go.

Some of the most convenient foods that can be eaten on the go are boiled eggs, cheese and crackers, pre-packaged bowls of cereal and yogurt. To get the most from these choices simply add a banana or some fruit to the cereal and yogurt. This will offer you added vitamins and nutrients. These are all choices that will give you the nutrients and energy to start your day.

If you would like something with a bit more substance try making a breakfast sandwich with English muffins. You can put eggs, ham, bacon or simply peanut butter or cream cheese inside. This option may suit those of us who need a bit more than cereal or yogurt to get going in the morning. If a sandwich doesn't suit your form of transportation, you may want to consider a wrap instead. Using a whole wheat tortilla instead of an English muffin allows for the addition some vegetable along with your protein. A wrap is also easier to hold and carry while you are getting to where you need to be in the morning.

Whole wheat toaster waffles, cottage cheese, apples and low-fat cheese are also things that can be used to create a breakfast that can be enjoyed on the go. Toaster waffles can be topped with peanut butter or fruit. Cottage cheese can be mixed with berries and nuts and can now be found in individual serving containers that are easier to transport. Apples and a few slices of chees are also a great breakfast that is packed with vitamins and nutrients.

Instant oatmeal is also an excellent addition to any kitchen. They take only minutes to prepare and can be further enhanced with the addition of berries or nuts. This helps make them more appealing to kids while giving them the energy and nutrients they need in the morning.

With all of the available options and different ways that these items can be combined, there is bound to be something that appeals to your tastes. Whichever choice you feel is right for you, there is no longer any reason for any of us to go without breakfast again.
