      When you use healthy foods in your daily diet and nutrition plan, you can boost your immune system. When cold and flu season hits an all-time high you will be more protected than those people that do not eat as healthy as you do. Besides eating healthy you need to exercise, drink plenty of water, take multivitamins and get enough sleep for maximum benefit.

      The healthy foods you should blast your body with include fruits and vegetables. Add as many fruits and vegetables to your diet as possible. Try to eat at least 2 to 4 servings of fruit's a day and you should try to eat 3 to 5 servings of vegetables per day per the 2011 Food Pyramid.

      Fruits and vegetables are loaded with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants that will help you resist catching a cold. Mix up your fruits and vegetables so you do not get bored eating the same ones over and over. Have fun experimenting new fruits and vegetables each time you go to the grocery store.

      Exercising will help to make your stronger and healthier to boost your immune system. You will feel better as in have more energy and you will have a feeling of well-being when you exercise. Exercising will give you confidence as you will start to tone up and you may even start to lose weight. Everyone feels happier when their clothes start to feel loose especially if one needs to lose weight.

      Adding at least eight glasses of water to your daily diet and nutrition plan will help you digest your foods better. You will also need water to regulate your body temperature. Water will provide the means for the nutrients that move to all of your organs. Water transports oxygen to all of your cells, protects your joints and organs and it helps to remove waste from your body. With all of this information about water you know it is time to drink up!

      Take multivitamins after speaking to your family physician. Many times as hard as we try to eat the correct healthy foods to boost our immunity, we still lack enough of the vitamins and minerals in our daily diet. Taking a multivitamin daily will help to make sure you get all of the proper vitamins and minerals your body needs. This is especially important as you age.

      You need to get enough sleep each and every night to help boost your immunity. Sleep lets our bodies recharge. Sleep helps us avoid a large list of mental and physical health problems. When we do not get enough sleep our T-cells go down in numbers. When our T-cells are down we are more likely to develop a cold or the flu. It is shown that sleep deprivation suppresses our immune system function.

      Following these diet and nutrition tips will help you boost your immunity so you can live a healthier life.
