TweetDiet is an extremely important part of every fighter's day. Each fighter has to maintain top physical condition, stay within their weight class, and be able to have the stamina and power to endure a fight for however long it takes. A bad diet will be reflected in the ring, and it is not hard to see which fighters eat well and which ones do not.
Carbohydrates, healthy fats, and protein are all crucial to a balanced diet for a fighter. A fighter needs high energy levels and carbohydrates provide lots of energy for the body during a fight. It is best for fighters to get their carbohydrates from natural sources rather than refined sources. Fighters should eat whole grains, fruits, oatmeal, beans and yams for example. Protein helps to rebuild muscles and increases muscle growth. Some of the best sources for protein are lean beef, eggs, chicken and tuna. Protein drinks are also good sources but should only be used by those who are doing intensive training. Healthy fats, called Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, are needed by the body to work properly. Seafood and nuts such as walnuts are great sources of these fats. Cod liver oil and flaxseed oil can also be taken. The monounsaturated fats found in seeds, olives, and avocados are also essential. Good fats allow the body to absorb valuable vitamins.
For those who are following a more vegetarian diet, it is essential to make sure that the diet is balanced. It is much more difficult to meet the demands of intensive training on a vegetarian diet. Supplements could be needed if proper nutrition is too difficult to get. A vegetarian that eats cheese and other dairy products
Fighters should avoid foods that are high in fat and sugar. Processed foods, saturated fat, sweets, fizzy drinks, fast food and fried foods should all be avoided. So where does that leave the fighter who is short on time, especially since fighters should eat at least six small meals a day?
Juicing is a great option to get a fast meal. With this method, a fighter can simply turn his meals into a drink, and drink them on the go. They still have all the nutrition that they need but they don't have to sit down to eat it. Just about anything can be juiced. Berries, fruits, and vegetables are all great examples of foods that can easily be juiced. Juicing is a great way to get minerals that a fighter might not be able to get or just simply to receive nutrition that would be difficult to get any other way.
Quick snacks of fruits and vegetables can easily be eaten on the go. There are many kinds of snacks that can be made that are easy to eat on the go. In a pinch, protein shakes can be substituted for a quick snack or small meal. Easy to make and eat foods are the only fast foods that should be eaten by a fighter.

Tweetdont forget spinach. my coach hammers it in his fighters heads to eat it every day for the micro nutrients and its alkalizing effect on the body. i have grown to hate it. but even if you dont train for combat it is good and will increase your body's performance in what ever you do in conjunction with the foods and macro nutrients listed above.
