TweetDamn that sucks. I hate that for the kitten.
TweetWarning-graphic!
Yesterday, I pull into my property and notice something bright red fall from the sky onto the white snow. I get out of my truck and go over and I see a bloody spine of a kitten and the head and front paws...I look up and see a HAWK circling above. I then notice a long trail of pieces of cat hair on the snow, with no animal prints in the snow.
I felt so bad. I like cats. Hopefully it was just a feral cat and not someones pet. People who have cats that they let outside should be careful about stuff like that. I realize it is all part of nature, but it still feels bad to see it happen. The ground is frozen so I got a shovel and put the cat under the snow and will bury it when things thaw out.
Im not sure if the hawk was in the tree with the cat and flew off when I drove in or if the Hawk dropped the cat from the sky, but it freaked me out man

Tweetwe have coyotes. christmas day i got up walked outon the front porch with my coffee and a coyote ran by with a dead cat in it's mouth. the cat had a collar with a jingle bell ringing as they went by.
our neighborhood watch sent out a flyer that said keep your cats inside. (i am damn tired of my flower beds being used as litter boxes and my yard smelling like ammonia) i like cats ok but i have no prob with a coyote culling the feral cats. (or hawk which we have too but never seen them with anything other than squirrels)
