I have some friends that are competing in a show in May. They are working with a very well known ex-bodybuilder who is also a licensed nutritionist. He trains many of the competitors around here. Anyway, I talked with him and told him what my goals were and he said that for 500.00 he would do my entire diet for 8 weeks making changes to it as needed, monitoring my progress by a full body body fat assessment every week, and tell me what supplements to take. Is it worth it? That comes out to 62.50 per week. I am actually considering it but that seems like a lot of money....if it gets me where I want to be though, it could be worth it!

I am not sure if that is a lot of money or not, but if you have it, I would do it. You will also learn a lot and it will help you. Go for it!!

Well, I guess that was my question. The "a lot of money" question would be personal opinion. Thanks

WEll, lets put it this way the last show I did, I hired a retired IFBB pro and mind you it was a 12 week prep, I spent $2000. So I don;t think thats really that bad at all, depending on there experience, not with Nutrition, but with working with "INDIVIDUALS" and adjusting properly in an indivdual manner, rather than a cookie cutter program, because thats whats going to be the difference. Not just anyone can adjust things on a per person, basis. Alot of them have a diet they use for everyone. Its an art form truly~

Okay. His 12 week that includes training is 1200-1500...so that's about right. He definitely adjusts on the fly. He has been doing this a long time, so I have faith. Now it's just convincing the wife that 500 is a good deal..LOL

well fwiw i got one done 8 years ago paid 250

now, when i got it, it really wasn't anything i did not know, it was a 60/40/20 split all clean fresh foods about 2400 calories

the goal is too be below input and out 700 cals a day so you can shed fat

it's really a consistnecy issue over the long term

i didnt do it cause i've logged intake and results for decades, alot of his carbs were fruits and veggies which since i hate 80% of all fruits and veggies wasn't appealing

i did not feal it was a waiste though

oh i had also around the same time hired an ex Texas heavy weight bbldg champion two times in the nineties, went thru training and supps and some as stuff

again not a waste, both just re-affirmed i was doing it the right way and had been the difference is just alot of detailed stuff if you want xyz, which i also knew, yet maybe not speed of results based on changes

      hoped that helped

If you have it, i would do it. Just think back...how much $ have you spent on supps whether good or bad over the past year. If your like me, probably alot more than $500. In addition, this is something you keep and can refer to at any time.

I personaly would never spend that much money on how to eat unless I was a professional. You can find "how to" eat, sleep, train, on the internet.Losing weight isnt easy but its hard work. Just have patience and in time everthing will work out.

Yep, seems like a lot of money for something you can do for yourself and go in just as good as people who fork out fortunes on trainers. Fuzo is right. There is so much information available to you for free. When you learn it yourself, you keep the knowledge with you. Doing good in a show really comes down to self discipline. You can be just as good on your own and save a lot of money. There is no secret method involved. Read the precontest bible and you will know more than most of your competition.

I decided to not do it. I talked with him and told him that I may get with him whenever I start to bulk up but I could lose the weight myself. I will look into the Pre-contest Bible.
