TweetWe have all Dells' at work, Latitudes and Inspirons. They never give any trouble and are good machines for the price. We have a Toshiba out in the field - the Portege 7000 and it is a piece of garbage.
Tweeti had a toshiba about 5 years ago, it was a PIECE OF CRAP, im thinking of trying the whole laptop thing again. are they better now ? whats a good brand?

TweetDell X200 is awesome.
Tweetanything nowdays is good bro, go to best buy & get a good deal on something. HP, Compaq, whatever.
You guys have fun today, i gots work to do.
TweetSaturn - only thing I didn't like is they had a lot of proprietary drivers for the display and bios. Made it real difficult to upgrade from Win 98 to 2000. I did like the overall thinness and the battery life wasn't too bad.

TweetAny laptop you're going to run into those kind of problems.
We have mostly toshiba laptops here at work. They seem OK.. my biggest gripe is toshiba's hardware support. It's not uncommon to have to wait 3 weeks to get your laptop fixed under warranty.
RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.
Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.
TweetDELL Latitude! end of story. Mabye a gateway. i have a friend who has one, and he says it's great!
I have two. one is a 800Ghz p3 and it smokes all other laptops that have over a gig. the new x200 that i have w/ a 933Ghz i the shit.
Tweetyeah, the x200 or the viao slim line are badass ... smallest ones i've seen ...
TweetGet a dell, I got the Inspiron and love it. Gateway is good but expensive. I got my dell from Ebay, and bought it for like $300 less than the retail price.
TweetIm surprised no one asked him what he is going to use it for. For gaming, I run an Alienware Area 51 2.8GHZ P4. The fastest laptop ive ever used. For travel, Gov gave me a dell Latitude C800. Not bad but its no Alienware.
What is your purpose for having one? Gaming, Travel, Main Desktop?
Let me know
Ciph
Tweetno gaming, just office stuff, and money, mostly storage is my deal, and speed. i travel alot on weekends and crap so i dont want to get behind on work.
TweetId Suggest a Sony Vaio, or a dell. I refuse to run Windows so if you dont like those, a powerbook is an extremely good choice as well. Macs are very powerful.

Tweetthanks bro
TweetI like Gateway for all, kind of like QV for all too. Hey they both have a similarity right? COWS.....
TweetI have a Compaq EVO N600c - It's just a 1.2g with 256m/ram, but it's a nice little machine. VERY light and only about an inch thick. 1400x1050 native resolution - it's prety slick. It also has a DVD/CDRW combo drive which is nice when you're on the road.
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.
