I bought a jar of this from a store I shop at and it is awesome. Smells good and relaxes the body. Isnt cheap though but ok for a treat sometimes. Anyone else use detox baths? usually I just use epsom salts with a few drops of oil in it

i am skeptical that anything you put in a bath would "pull" toxins out. now epsom salt helps you sweat. but toxins do not migrate from where they are, out of your skin in a bath.

that said...........if it makes you feel good, smells good, your skin is soft ect. after your bath then by all means it has provided you with a tangible benefit

Toxins do in fact get released from the skin through sweat. It is important, after such detoxing, to shower after though. Epsom, saunas, steam rooms, dry brushing all have similar benefits. Being that the salts are magnesium, it is helpful for the body to relax muscle and help our nervous system. It is also imperative, after all those things including massage, to drink lots of fluids. I am a believer, but this is based on my own personal experiences with illness and failures of methods that Western Medicine has caused me

i agree with you. I was just pointing out that an ingredient in a bath will not selectively "pull" toxins from say your liver through the peritoneal cavity, musculature and then skin to detox ones liver.

an epsom salt bath is great but a regular bath is great too. sweat is sweat, IMO it does not matter how you get it although, perhaps a bath keeps your pores open and that might increase the ability to sweat but without physical exercise how much do you sweat?

the big thing about stuff like this is if you feel it does something beneficial for you then indeed it does. and again it is probably great for the skin, mental relaxation ect.

i in no way mean any disrespect, i am just such a skeptic.

No worries jipped. We all have different things that we believe help us so if I came across that way that is not how I meant it. You have a point , our pores do open from warm water whether it be our body or scalp. This is why a cool rinse on our head and body helps to close pores. This is something I learned as a cosmetologist. After washing hair or doing a chemical service, it was recommended to do a cool rinse. A good idea for those with oily scalps is to do a cool rinse after, and a cool shower which isn't always to fun, lol. It will wake you up though:0

not trying to steal a thread but my kidneys and liver are not great, since i have found out i have increased water intake and stopped using the steam room but i am thinking sweating out toxins should save stress on my organs right?? i mean they are not havng to pass it out thru urine so that should save the liver and kidneys stress??

negative. water flushes out and cleans organs. stress is caused when waste is moved too slowly through them. so drink the water my friend.

oh. sweating is good but it is not going to cleanse organs IMO. sweat helps eliminate excess salts and even cholesterol. this may indirectly help your organs. kidneys filter salt and minerals. sweat em out and less for the kidneys to do right?

jipped i am going to have to dig up the article and video but their are two docs i am pretty sure one is a power lifter and the other a bber or they are both one or the other. anyway they did a huge study and they point out that regular sauna use does in fact rid the body of many toxins. i will try to find it today but i just read and watched the vid a couple weeks ago
