Being bled dry...

TweetI should have called Dave because he's been through this before and can relate. He would have told me to save my breath. I called some of our creditors this morning to see if I could get an due dates extended and interest and penalties waved... OH, BUT NO!

We're back in our hole due to Thanksgiving holidays and bad weather that has delayed our crew from finishing up this job. It was suppose to be finished before Thanksgiving and no later than the end of Nov. There are only days away from being finished. I was making payments on everything up until a couple of weeks ago when our money ran out and we've been waiting on final payment. I called to explain this... I haven't even had the money for payroll last week and our payroll taxes are due on monday... so the late fees, interest and penalties are eating us alive!

You would think when a company or individual has not been late on a payment for 7 years and is in good standings... that business can make exceptions. Really... I've had some of them be very understanding while others not at all... how can someone get out of the hole when you just keep piling it in on them.

To add salt to the wound, I'm sitting at my desk and I hear this constant pounding outside. I go out to see what it is and they are tearing up the concrete putting in a pit for a tank... CONCRETE!!! My husband business is concrete! No we didn't get a chance to bid on the job. Here we are about to lay off his crew because we don't have any more work for them after the apartments are finish and there is my office with a concrete job. ****!!!!!

TweetThanks Fuzo... I just go through these times where I get really scared that we aren't going to make it through this. We're going on 2 yrs now and the houses still haven't sold. I don't know how much longer we can keep making three house payments.

TweetThanks! I know I need to find away to stop being negative about this. I'm trying to find the silver-lining, but every time I turn around I just keep getting hit by something else.

The good news it that the company that is buying the company I work isn't laying any one off for now. At least I still have a job! If I get to keep my job, then I feel like we may have a pray in getting through this.

Tweetfirst of all dixie, you know i wish you guys nothing but the best...seriously. i hope things turn around for you guys, but i'm affraid things are just gonna get worse...it's very possible 3million people could be un-employed pretty shortly and plenty will try there hand in construction. face it....alot of them dont have college degree's and will see the physical labor is a thing they can do. granted...most will suck and fall by the waist side, but not before reaching into the pockets of REAL contractors...it's gonna get tuffer for all of us.

I have a suggestion for your houses.
We have 3 on the market that haven't sold. 2 have been on for 6 months, 1 for 1.5 years. We recently put up a sign that says lease to own. We have had quite a few inquiries about them.
You charge a non refundable deposit, sign a 2 year lease agreement that states that at the end of 2 you they buy the house. The rent is to pay the bank,insurance and taxes. Only a small part of the payment goes toward the purchase of the house, say about 25.00 to 75.00 per month.
It may be worth a try and help relieve some of the money flow problems.
