I'm really liking this. I like that both left and right engine covers have a little extra protection. That plastic does make a big difference, for at least one slide down the asphalt. It's just another great looking SS from the Honda group. I'd love to ride a new one.
One thing that I really like about the new design is the ram air intake positioned at the center of the nose. I like that. I couldn't save a shot from the rear, but it looks like the brake light is no longer part of the undertail. So, I guess ya gotta keep that thing that wraps around the pipe. It can still be chopped and modded to look better.
I like it. The 1000 is the same, of coarse. They just re-did it last year. so ya know, 2 years...It's 1 badass liter bike. The badass literbike imo.

I sat on one and its not comfortable for me maybe its my size but the only bike that fits me with being comfortable is the gsxr or hyabusa.

ITS THE SAME AS MINE...YOU HAVE TO GET RID OF THE WHOLE REAR FENDER AND PUT THE CLEAR ALTERNATIVES INTEGRATED TAILLIGHT IN THE TAIL PIECE. IT GOES RIGHT ABOVE THE EXHAUST. IT LOOKS CLEAN WHEN DONE RIGHT

HERES A PIC OF MY 2004 WITH THE SAME TAIL LIGHT IN IT...AND ALSO A PIC OF THE 2007-2009 WHICH IS THE SAME WITH THAT LIGHT

So you have to replace the tail, or undertail with one that has a tail-light. Because it looks like it doesn't even have the tail-light like the '03-'08 has.
The tail-light in my '03 looked the same as your '04, of coarse. It's the exact same bike. It looks like they eliminated the flush tail-light with this new '09 design. Is that correct? Is that what you're saying as well 02?

I just re-read your post. I never even noticed the '07/'08 didn't have the tail-light like the previous models.

THERE IS NO LIGHT IN THE 07-09 MODEL TAIL SECTION...YOU ADD IT LIKE I DID ON MINE. THE INTEGRATED LIGHT HAS THE BLINKERS AND TAILLIGHTS IN IT. ILL TAKE A PIC OF MINE SO YOU CAN SEE

IT COSTS ABOUT $60 TO DO FOR THE LIGHT

HERES THE "HOW TO" WITH PICS FOR ALL THE DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS MAKING THE TAIL LIGHTS FOR THE RR'S NOW:

NO REPLACING THE TAIL AT ALL...YOU JUST PUT THE LIGHT IN THE STOCK TAIL. IT SLIDES RIGHT IN PLACE

MINE IS THE CLEAR ALTERNATIVES...I CLEANED UP ALL THE WIRING AND CONNECTORS. IT WORKS GREAT! I GOT MINE RIGHT WHEN THE 07'S CAME OUT. THE OTHERS WERENT EVEN MADE AT THAT TIME. MINES AN 06 LIGHT MADE TO FIT MY BIKE BY ME

THE GOOD THING ABOUT A CARBON EXHAUST IS THAT YOU CAN RIDE ALL DAY AND TOUCH THAT PIPE AND IT WONT BURN YOU. ALMOST NO HEAT COMES OFF IT, SO THERES NO HEAT UNDER THE SEAT. BUT, YOU TOUCH THE METAL END CAP AND ITS HOOOOT!

I have a 2007 GSXR 1k black and orange. That's a good looking bike but I am not really liking the single pipe coming out right under the tail. That looks weird to me. I personally think that the GSXR are way more comfortable that the Hondas. My buddy had a CBR 1K and I just didn't like riding it at all.

It's amazing that only a few tenths of an inch makes that much of a difference.

It's not necessarily height that makes it more comfortable. It's the angle at which the bike has you sitting. The CBR just felt like it was leaning you forward too much or something. IDK...hard to explain and its all personal preference.
