Is drinking from plastic bad for you?

TweetI've always heard never to leave your bottled water in the car during the summer because the heat could cause toxins to leach from the plastic into the water. Not 100% sure if that's true, but I don't leave my water bottles in the car. Just in case.

thing is even if it isnt sitting out front in the sun, we dont know how it was stored and for how long etc.... i always buy the gal jugs from walmart and rotate them weekly. come to think about it all the water we were given while deployed was on pallets and sat outside in 100 plus degree heat. i drank gallons upon gallons of that stuff and really didnt have any other choice

TweetI drink from plastic bottles and for me it is better than the tap water in my house...which smells and taste like bleach. It is the chemicals, like bpa in the plastic that supposedly can get into the water when left in the heat. I do leave bottles, or buy ones, that are in the heat.

I had read an article on some testing on bottled water and Nestle PureLife came up as one of the ones with least chemicals. I would like to see something more current though
