TweetOMG!
I'm so sorry to hear!!
TweetI just got a phone call from a very good friend of mine. She just informed me that her younger brother (also a very good freind of mine) was at work getting his cat prepped for the day. I guess something with the blade (front part) had to be changed into a grinder wheel.
Not knowing the process of this transfer will make this a bit vague but you will get the jest of what transpired.
Shane, 26 (the cat operator) was in the cab and had this grinder wheel chained to secure it as his helper (41) was doing his job for the switch. The helper was under the wheel for just a brief second to grab something and the chain broke. The wheel probably weighs a couple tons (speculation) and it came down right on top of him.....i'm sure you can picture the horrific event.
The man died instantly, leaving a wife and three children...

Aerobics: a series of strenuous exercises which help convert fats, sugars, and starch into aches, pains and cramps! (that's why I don't do 'em LOL)
TweetIt really doesn't affect me. I'm just worried that Shane will feel responsible for it. it was his cat, his call, his directions.....although he followed proper procedure and can't be responsible for a chain breaking....i feel he will take this very hard. They were really good friends to boot. He watched him get crushed to death and could do nothing...
rough waters on the horizon
TweetAwful news Nate. Hopefully his loved ones will be taken care of, I'll keep them in my prayers
TweetIt is very unfortunate, but is not your friends fault. I have seen a similar incident and it is just a fate of something gone bad at the wrong time. Nothing he could do would have changed it.

that said...90% of them are accidents...there is nothing you can do about it.
