LDL is like a patch in our vascular system. if a vein of artery is damaged it is LDL that covers the damaged or inflammation until the bid can heal it. HDL clears the LDL away so if it is not healed it will be exposed and cause more inflammation in the vascular system. so in actuallity a good ratio of LDL:HDL is more important than a really low LDL and a really high HDL.
