Woohoooo! I got a new job yesterday! I am going to be assistant managing a World Gym here in VA! Its a newly converted Golds Gym. The bldg is beautiful. Its the original schoolhouse in the county. Brick exposed walls, big beautiful windows, wide open spaces, all new equipment. I am so excited! The GC on the job does all the Chiplotles in the area and has used some left over material in the construction. The front desk is amazing and I will have my own office. I will post some pics when its all done. We are set to open next Friday. We are going to be open 24 hours M-F and 8-8 on the weekends. In the mean time, I am going to get my personal training license. Finally, some good news in 2009!

What does the job entail? Is it franchise or corp. chain?
Does this require selling memberships of just ensureing the place runs well?

Its a franchise. The folks that own this one, own a few more and are looking at opening 2 more. If I do well, one of the other gyms could be mine. My job will entail pretty much everything from the start since its a new gym.
