TweetI'm going to enter my 1st PL meet in april! I'm currently just trying to move my #'s up! The bench press is for me my best lift, due to being a "bench press cripple" I hope to get 350.The squat is by far my worst! Although I'm getting better,I'd be lucky to get 350 at the comp.The dead lift,sumo is my favorite,isn't stellar but not too bad at 405 I'm hoping to hit 450.Currently I'm training a west side style format with less volume.I'll keep you guy's and gal's in the loop and tell ya all the gory details! Say a prayer please!!

TweetLISTEN ANY MAN THAT CAN BENCH PRESS 315 5-10 TIMES IS VERY IMPRESSIVE. NOW YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THERS NOT A WHOLE LOT OF REGULAR PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD AT 40YRS OLD THAT CAN PUT UP THAT MUCH WEIGHT IN BENCHING.I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS YOUNG I SO WANTED TO BENCH 315 AND NOW ITS LIKE NO BIG DEAL. BUT NOW I'M OLDER AND IN MY 40'S I COULD CARE LESS ANYMORE HOW MUCH I PUT UP AS LONG AS I STAY HEALTHY. I STILL CAN PUT UP SOME BENCHING NUMBERS BUT THATS NOT MY GOAL ANYMORE AT MY AGE.

TweetPL is a different animal. I judged a meet last month and the bench is different than most know. The bar has to come down and rest on the chest until the judge says "Lift" then in one controlled steady movement with no stopping or pausing must go to lock out and the bar must stay level- alot tougher than most know. TweetAmen FUZO! I remember (uh-oh!) when I was impressed by anything over 100lbs! Now I try to concentrate on just beating my #'s!

TweetAND DO LOTS OF DIPS FOR YOUR TRICEPS TO ADD STRENGTH IN YOUR BENCH PRESS. DIPS DIPS DIPS I'M TELLING EVERYONE IF YOU WANT YOUR BENCH TO GO UP DO DIPS. NOT ROPE PULL DOWNS OR TRICEP PUSH DOWNS DIPS MAN AND YOU WILL SEE A DIFFERENCE. AND ALSO CLOSE GRIP BENCH FOR TRICEPS DO BOTH OF THEMK AND I'LL BET ANYONE THERE BENCH WILL GO UP IN A MATTER OF TIME WITH JUST THOSE 2 TRICEP WORK OUTS. I DO THOSE 2 AND JUST A ROPE EXERCISE BUT ITS NOT THE ROPE ITS LIKE THE ROPE BUT YOU PUT YOUR HANDS IN BOTH STRAPS AND USE IT LIKE THE ROPE. ITS MUCH BETTER THEN THE ROPE. SINCE IVE BEEN DOING THOSE 2 EXERCISE MY BENCH HAS INCREASED BIG TIME.
