Oh why no more than 3.5mph? At 4.2 mph I burn close to 1100 calories in 1 hour.
Is it ok to hold on to the machine?

See I need more than 30 mins. I don't start sweating until about 20 minutes so that is why I like to stay on for 1hr. I'll have to try a lower speed without holding on. 23lbs lost but no abs yet!!!
15 incline?? What kind of treadmill are you using Mike?? On a Lifefitness 15 incline would almost be vertical, lol! and no hand on the rails? How LONG did you stay on it to burn and how many days a wk? I don't have time for 1hr of cardio a day.
15% is not all that bad...maybe it's b/c I went to App and have a bunch of hill walking under my belt...but don't hang on to anything on that treadmill unless you're about to literally fall...you will cheat so fast otherwise...and think about it, when you're walking up hills in real life there is no bar in front of you to grab...if it's the speed then knock it down a peg or two...15% too high, then just bring it down to 13%...highly beneficial for the hammies and glutes and it will work your hip flexors...this you will definitely feel the next day
