Tweeti dont blame you, jobs like that arent for everyone, i would never want to do that kind of work..If you can find a job you love doing try to do it, even if you have to take a pay cut its worth it imo
TweetThe new job pretty much sucks. Im so tired of getting covered with mud and being freezing cold. Tonight we were tripping pipe and I have mud all in my right ear all all over my face. This drilling rig thing isnt what I thought it would be. I was moving some pipe tonight and my driller was screaming (yes they scream at me all the time) at me to move over. I slipped and fell pretty hard. I landed right on my wrist. Hurts when I try to use it but I dont think it broken or sprained. Had to fill out a report and do a piss test right there. Dont know what to do. I think Im going to go to the Dr tommorow and then go look for something else. Maybe the $20/ hour isnt worth it, ya know getting hurt and being miserable the whole time Im out there. I guess I proved to everyone that didnt think I could do it that I can, now its just a matter of if I want to do it or not. Im thinking not.

TweetThat sucks, having to be on a drilling rig for $20 an hour... is this one of those off shore rigs? or something on land?
Tweet$20 an hour for that type of work is very thin.. it deserves wayy more than that brotha..
You can always seek a position in carpentry..roofers..plumbers..electricians.. which require some education but can be obtained if tried.
Tweetyep .....I would rather have a job that I love ad stick with it even if the pay is lower ! stress free and happy with where ur goin ....just got to try different things till u find something u like !

TweetNothing worse than being in a job you hate, bro. Take it from one who has been there, done that. It has a reverberating effect on your entire life including your relationships with others. Change is difficult, yet it's oftentimes the best thing...
TweetGet out of there man, you can find better. I've had jobs like that in the past that seemed like a cool idea at the time but weeks into it I realized I was wrong.
TweetIt's not always going to be muddy and cold out there bro. I guess if you don't need the money then look for something else. You really haven't been there very long. Once you learn the ropes things will move much smoother for you. Earn there respect and the yelling will stop.
I don't feel like the rest here, I don't think you should quit so easily. Just my opinion.
Tweetyup, you gotta at least not hate the job you're doing bro, good luck.
Tweet^True words!!!you know the guys that you work with that make everything look easy...the guys that stay half clean...the ones that never sweat...that will be you verry soon! stick with it..it will get easy once you learn te ropes
Tweetim sure he can find something half as easy for 20 bucks an hour tho..
Tweeti know it's a different lifestyle, and him yelling at you is just him being pissed you might get hurt..
Keep at it though, you might be the guy doing the yelling..
or
stay in school..
good luck

TweetHonestly everyone out there is covered in mud, not just me, the new guy. Things are getting easier as Im already getting stronger. The worst is being covered in mud and it coming in my boots and all on my face plus its like 40 out.
The driller yells and cusses at even the derrick man whos is also his brother in law.
TweetLike what? I dont have any college and Im 26.
