I hate this damn computer

TweetWell I will be offline for a while because for like the 5th time in a month now i have to do a complete system restore on my pc and then reload every piece of software back on. My pc keeps just locking up completly every 10 minutes or so and it's driving me crazy! So I will talk to you all later tonight or tomorrow. Depends on how fast I can get this done. I'm actually getting pretty good at it.

TweetI've cleaned everything, defragment everything, checkked for all problems, etc. I run 512 mb of ram so I know the memory is not a problem. and I run a virus scanner and firewall at all times. I think that in this day and age the programs I run and the amount of them are just too much for this little 633 mhz pc. I think it's time to upgrade to at least a 2 gig.

TweetWell even though you restore your system it doesn`t mean its fully cleaned..format your drive c:\ completely..

I had a similar problem with my computer few weeks ago..with that Dr.Watson guy I had to completely re-install Windows..

Your motherboard could be giving you trouble aswell.

TweetThat's what I'll be doing. I can either erase and restore all files or erase the entire hard drive and reformat it. Basically it makes the pc exactly as it was the day I bought it back in 2000. It's a true pain in the ass because I then have to go back and install every windows security and regular update that I have installed over the past 5 years not to mention all the software programs. But I at least know that it is clean as a whistle. Well off I go!

TweetCould always be a hardware problem.

I had bad RAM earlier this year. Kept rebooting the PC at random... after reloading windows 3 times... I finally started doing some hardware testing and that's finally how I found out about the RAM being bad.

You'd never see me buy a laptop unless I needed a portable computer.

Less performance, more money, more prone to failure, small screen, small KB, etc. Sure you can buy external displays, keyboards, etc.. but shit, what's the point then? Might as well buy a desktop.

if you want a computer that won't get viruses, easy to use, no spyware, spamware, or gets bogged down from installing stuff or the registry getting corrupted get a mac and don't look back.

comes with a ton of good software too.
