I don't think messing with accutane is too good of an idea...I would check with a dermatologist first. Accutane can have some serious life lasting sides.

You're exactly right estran. My dermatologist would not even consider it...says it is way too dangerous. He was telling me about some pictures he saw of babys born from mothers while taking accutane, he said they looked like freaks. I have had 3 or 4 different dermatologists in my life and none of them would prescribe it. Most will tell you that you have to be completely covered in acne before they will go that route, and then you have to sign your life away on forms for sides.

Accutane is bacically overdosing your body on a derivitave of vitamine A so that probably isnt healthy I can get an or antibiotic like tetracyclne with would probably be a lot safer

      thanks for all your input

Good thinking bro, play it safe. Maybe try some b-5 also...do a search on the net for it and you will see how it is supposed to help prevent acne also. Be sure to take a shower twice a day and use a good soap. I like clinique extra strength myself.

      I personally love Accutane!
Never do a cycle without it!

      (IMO it's been unjustly demonized)

You may find this article helpful :

      ACCUTANE: SAFER THAN YOU THINK

      Gabe Mirkin, M.D.

The most effective treatment for acne is a drug called Accutane. But many doctors will not prescribe it for their patients because they are terrified of its side effects.

A recent study from Israel shows that Accutane has been on the market for 20 years and is far safer than many doctors think. Accutane can cause horrible birth defects and should not be prescribed to menstruating women unless they are extremely responsible. However, many doctors refuse to prescribe Accutane for severe acne because they are afraid that Accutane will damage livers, raise triglyceride levels and cause heart attacks. In this study, none of the patients had liver tests that were abnormal enough to stop treatment. Only 1.5 percent of patients had serum triglyceride levels above 400 mg%, but all continued treatment. Most exciting, only 3.5 percent of patients required a second treatment.

Analysis of laboratory data in acne patients treated with isotretinoin: is there really a need to perform routine laboratory tests? Journal of Dermatological Treatment, 2001, Vol 12, Iss 1, pp 9-12. J Alcalay, M Landau, A Zucker.

Beauty is only skin deep - unless you have some good muscle underneath.
      Then it goes much deeper.

Make sure the b-5 has about 500mg per serving because you want to take abot 3 or 4 grams a day...6 or 8 pills.

yes it does have sides (like any drug has) - it's harsh on the liver, but it's one of the few things that really does work...
i've tried b5 (5-6 g a day), tetracycline, minocycline etc... nothing worked.. everything is temporary...

learn about the drug before using it. it has been known for its affects of making people depressed, some even suicidal.
anti biotics do a great job for my skin.
btw...most doc's will only prescribe it in extreme cases(if you have acne every where over your entire body) which probily isnt the case here.
      currently cutting:
      wt: 210lbs
      ht: 5'11"
      bf%: 11%

      current cycle:
      Off

bro let me just tell you something, accutane is awesome! i too was afraid of the endless side effects. but to tell you the truth the only thing that was really bad was the dry skin and lips, but who gives a shit if it takes away the nasty pussing red bumps all over your face and back! side effects are soooo over rated, just like with anything else. i took accutane for 6 months and i am as clear as ive ever been. im starting a new cycle though and i hope the zits dont come back... we'll see i guess. good luck!
