Professional boxer vs MMA fighter in MMA match

Tweeti dont watch boxing anymore...think it is boring...but those guys come to fight in better shape than prob any other proffesional athlete...they have way too much hand speed and power...a mayweather, roy jones(in prime), tyson (in prime) would destroy any other fighter in weight class...would only take a couple good punchesyou see what chuck liddel can do with a good punch, and no way can he land a punch in the same league that tyson would have been able to with the same gloves

TweetI think that the fighters like Anderson Silva are too well rounded to lost to a strictly boxing guy. Anderson's reactions will carry him through the standup and then a takedown would cement a win. I know that boxer have good ko power but there are quite a few MMA guys that have chins of granite! All they have to do is be able to take a shot or two until they got their hands on the boxer.

Tweetgood wrestling takedown isnt all that either...hell i demolished a young punk at the bar a few weeks ago that was picking fight with my friend...everyone told me to leave him alone because he was a bad ass...won state in wrestling 2 times(kid was only 20 and got arrested for being in bar with fake id when cops came)...i didnt listen, he didnt even have time to take me down and his nose was splatterd everywhere..and i have no training other than street/bar fighting....but i can pack a knockout punch

That's a bit different situation IMO. Also, a fighter with great leg kicks will kill the boxer without being threatened with a punch. That is something the boxer would not be able to take.

I agree with the bar fight. I am not a bar fighter or bouncer by any means, but I have seen quite a few street fights. That first punch usually won the fights I saw....assuming they landed in the right spot.

TweetNot all boxers are in the same kind of top form someone like Mayweather is. I really think a GSP, Rich Franklin, Frankie Edgar etc. is in as good of shape as any top boxer. Wrestling is by far tougher cardio wise than boxing, and thats what some of the MMA guys can do for 5 5min rounds. Now the average pro boxer prob has better pure cardio than the average pro MMA guy Im sure, but I think the elite from both sport are pretty comparable IMO.

Totally absurd? Really? Rich Franklin would work circles around them in his gym! Yeah, they might be able to run 20 miles further or jump rope longer. And they might be able to "BOX" for 12 rounds. But "boxing" for 12 rounds is not the same as grappling for 5 rounds. I have boxed before and I have grappled before. Grappling was much more taxing on me.
