How steroids can psychologically screw you up

TweetWhen I was younger, there was a guy who used to lift with us. Never really a good looking kid, or popular in school. Always picked on, etc... So he started juicing and lifting with us back in the day. As soon as he started juicing and getting bigger, his popularity changed. Now, he was the big dude no one phuqued with. Girls were digging him. He got lazer surgery for his eyes. He was a new guy. So over the past 11 years, he juiced, and was a pretty popular guy. He was recently in a car accident (back in September). I read in the paper today, he died. Self inflicted gun shot wound. I talked to one of his good friends today. He told me that dude got so depressed at the fact that he might not be able to lift anymore, and probably go back to Mr Unpopular, that he killed himself.

TweetI don't know man. Was it really the steroids that got him all fukked up or was it the years of ridicule? What kind of home life did he have growin up? I guess I can see his fear of being rejected once again, but he had to have had some pretty serious issues to begin with. This kinda sounds like the whole subliminal messages in metal music making kids kill themselves that was all the rage in the eighties.

If you don't have good self esteem and on top of it can not deal/control with the hormonal issues, then there will be probs down the road. You have to say to yourself in the beginning that this may not a lifelong situation using. Aas is not the end all to fitness.

Have to agree with you about that. Some people get a feeling of a superman complex and dont want to lose that, and when they come off they dont know how to deal with the rebound. Over a long period of time if these issues are not addressed someone can get screwed up big time. i think people have to be strong minded to really be able to handle some of the effects that come along with aas.

Beautifully said. AAS can be very mentally addicting. For some, it's the difference between being the guy getting sand kicked in their face, or BEING the guy getting the sand kicked in the face. Do you know that when i was in school, there was a study done that said over 68% of polie officers were guys and girls that were not popular in school. Basically, they were picked on and labeled the "geeky" crowd. Now, the police badge is their bully power. Same thig with steroids. And some guys get so high off the popularity they received from being all jacked up, that they never want to go back to living the old way again.

TweetI've heard that quote before about cops being mostly nerds. Mick hit the nail on the head though, if you arn't secure about yourself before juice than you will be worse off in the long run.

I hate hearing about suicides. It's scary to think that a mind can get to the point where it would rather self destruct, than cope with something.
