Since gramps loves my stories so much..

This one is from highschool. Grade 11 mechanics class to be exact.

My friend Dean was having problems with his beater ford thunderbird. Specifically, he had a miss in 1 of the cylinders.

So we've got the car running and Dean is checking the spark plug wires making sure they're all tight and so on. Well, we found the problem... a corroded spark plug wire. Unfortunately, it made it's presence known by shocking the s#!t out of Dean.

Because of the power of the shock, when it hit him he jerked into a straight standing position. But when he did this, he just nailed his head on the underside of the hood. So then he bends back over again... just in time for the hood to come screaming down and close on him. (he hit the hood so hard with his head he knocked the prop rod out). Poor bugger got the latch square in the spine and burnt his hand on the exhaust manifold scrambling to get the heck away from that car.

Came out of it with a numb right hand from the shock(s), a large lump on the back of his head from smacking it on the hood. A nasty cut and bruise on his lower back from the hood latch, and a few blisters on his left hand from the red-hot exhaust manifold.

It was crazy to watch. The whole thing took like 5 seconds to happen.
