TweetI a just curios if anyoen here is in realestate, and any opinions on the field? I'm in college now and I really don't know how much more I can take. .. I have ADHD and sitting in class is quite possibly the most difficult thing I have ever had to do in my life. I know it sounds stupid, but I just can't take it, the only thing that keeps me there is knowing that I'm not going to make any decent coin without a degree and a grad degree. Or am i wrong?
Is there anything you can do that doesn't require college that makes good money? I'm a hard ass worker cause I have to constantly be doing something or I feel like I am being lazy. Grr. Someone throw some good career ideas out to me!
I was looking at realestate, but I don't know how much money you can really make at that. I was more interested in selling some houseses saving the money and investing in property farther down the road.

TweetI have add and went through all the same things in college, I finished and went into construction, only had too sit at desk for maybe 2-3 hours a day rest of time up and about.
Real Estate is a great career choice people will always need homes and due to fact it is big money purchase and complex will always need real estate agents.
IMHO, a degree means one thing and one thing only, it is a entry ticket into corporate america, it says I can take directions based on a promise, ie, take some pain now, and we will reward you in the end. Corporate america want folks who take directions, not one of ADD'ers great strengths, matter fact it's in direct conflict with corporate america.
Good news about add it is like you passion and desire which is what most folks lack.
You'll do well. Try and think things through a little though rather than jumping in without thinking, most add'rs downfall.
Think you looking in right direction.
Good Luck
TweetThat i something I am already afraid of, when i get my mind on one thign I put everything I have into it and more, I sometimes feear that I will find something that I love so much that I devote everything I have to it and either in the end get "burnt out" or trade off my personal happiness to a career. Liek I said before, I have this dream that I will be earning my own money, not from a company, but rather going out and getting it, and i'm ready to do whatever ti takes to get there. I'm not saying I'm gonna drop out of school right yet, but in two weeks I start night class's to get my real estate license. It's just getting so depressing at school right now. I feel like everythign we do is so meaningless, I honestly have yet to learn anything that I either did not already know or have no need to know, and the sad part is I am in honors class's to.Originally posted by trip

I guess what it comes out to is the fact that I know what I want to do with my life, I just don't know how to go about getting it.
Sorry for my massive long posts, i've never actually told anyone my feelings on this, just always went along with school like everyone else because we all know in america just about every yes sir (hope i don't offend anyone ) will tell you that a person with a college degree is better than every other person without one. Personally, I don't think I college degree proves much of anything, I truly resent the fact that my parents drop $36,000 a year on BS. GRRR!
TweetIf you like PM me, I have a lifetime of dealing with ADD, and I've made all the mistakes, so anything can pass along.
Would highly reccomend finding a mentor, like Mr. Vdr to help you see all the things you are doing right, and also help you shore up the things you struggle with.
One of difficulties with ADD is when you express your feelings they are so different than most folks because they are very passionate they will always tell you what you are doing wrong, which is extremely frustrating and makes you keep all that crazy stuff in your head rather than get it out.
Most people do not understand passion and drive and having a goal you are willing to pursue, and also having no problem with doing hard work, also most people have one way of doing things whereas ADD folks can see 20 ways of doing things, another big conflict cause other folks will tell you all the things that are wrong with your 20 ideas.
You need someone who will show you the good things about your 20 ideas, and how you can better the weak points of your 20 ideas, and in lot's of instances better evaluate out of 20 ideas which are your five best that will produce the most success.
I could go on and on, yet know you get the drift.
Being courageous and brave and following your dreams are something most folks are afraid of so be cautious who you listen too.
Tweeti really might be able to help you, you are alot like me. when i get into something i become almost obsessed but i get bored and burnt out very easy. i refuse to work for anyone or have anyone put a cap on the amount of money i make. the sky is the limit. i will most likely PM you at night when i have some free time.
TweetGo ed, go. IMHO think it would be great for both of you.
Tweetlook very forward to hearing from you ed, trip, i'll be sending you a PM, i just kinda had a wake up call in the past few weeks that I feel that I just have to really get persuing what it is that I want in my future. It's like I have all this drive, energy, and compassion that has been pent up and I have been finding it amazingly frustrating that I am not doing anything with it. I really appreciate your help guys.
