TweetI live in PA. It's getting colder and colder as the days go on. So I decide to get my fireplace ready to use. I go to the local Home Depot to buy some sheet metal to line the fireplace with (it reflects the heat outwards insead of the brick absorbing the heat). So I'm in line getting the sheet metal out of my cart, and it begins to fall. So what do I do? I try to grab it. The sheet metal tears my fingers open like a razor blade. Now, at this point, I have about a 99.9% sure feeling my fingers are bleeding like a pig, but I decide not to look for fear of the guy behind me laughing at my stupidity. So I'm holding the sheet metal, and I hear the guy behind me say "Yo bra, you're bleeding all over." I look, my entire piece of sheet metal almost coated in blood. My cart, covered. Everything in my cart, covered. You would have thought someone chopped my finger off. So I'm playing it cool. I say to the kid behind the counter "You got a towel or something? If not, no big deal." The kid starts looking frantically, and gets me a towel. I decide to look at my finger. First thing I think after I look at it, "Shit. Stitches." It looked bad. I wrap the towel around my finger and I'm like, "awww, I got some blood on your floor. Sorry dude." I walk out calmly like I'm the shit and put my stuff in my car. I fly home to get it cleaned up and bandaged. So far, it hasn't stopped yet. I'm a dope. But I looked calm and cool being a dope. That's the most important thing.

TweetBeing a former Ironworker i had to work with alot of sheet metal. When training a rookie, #1 rule...if you lose it, let it go! that shit will go through your flesj and bones like butter...they never listen until its to late, when they lost a finger or got badly cut....then they remember....I too fell victim to the same thing...

Tweethe's not dope and he shouldn't feel like one. Instincts take over when you see something falling. In that split second of disaster theres not a whole lot you can do about it.

I mean how many times have you bumped a glass of something and thought it was going to spill so you reach out and try to save it, only to knock it all the way over????
