“Where Are You?”

We met on an autumn day. I remember the colors turning from green to bright reds and yellows.

Maybe it was your smile or how we’d talk for hours. Was it me?, or did you know what I was thinking…or was I just dreaming? Always seemed like we were on the same track. Maybe we were brothers, or sisters, could it be lovers?

I remember yourself, how you would could open up an empty room. I could feel your sense; a spirit, or maybe it was a glow. Then one day …flash!… you were gone.

Now I lay here empty and worn…..

Sometimes I lay in bed motionless…I feel so alone. All I have is your face etched in my mind…remembering the days we had in some place in time.

When I’m alone sometimes I ask God “Why You”? Please make it stop, let it be me and not you!! What have I done to deserve such pain, but when I think back its good memories not rain.

As time passes by I try to hold on “Please God don’t let me forget”, if I shouldn’t remember one day to the next. Now I live one day to the next, sometimes it might be a certain glance or maybe a gesture of some stranger that might pass, or maybe it’s the scent of fresh rain on a new springs grass.

Sometimes I ask myself why am i here..... what about Now and “Where Are You?”….
